GTI International 2008 - 21st & 22nd June

Apparently the Inters organising committee are to discuss whether I can turn up in my Speedster!

I didn't think there was an issue with getting into the place with a non-vag car. There was a few different cars there last year and the year before (remember the prat in the M3 doing doughnuts near our stand - don't know what gave him that idea???)

I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.
I have an email saying I'm Ok in my C4S for both the parking and Sprint (after specifically emailing to ask)..so you should be OK.

They (the organisers) have said they are clamping down on non-VAG cars in the club parking and event proper.

I emailed and asked and didn't get a response. I'm planning on just turning up and risking it, if needs be I'll park with the rest.

What are the general views of those involved on a white A3 with black wheels being on the stand this year?

Why am i not on the list :-(

Shy19s....the more the merrier :)

LOL cheers Chris....I know that, but I was just feeling a bit down...hehe, as you do on a Monday morning at work!!!

Was that me at the helm Chris... Your S3 wasn't the only thing to go sideways that weekend!

@ Glen and Chris - Looking forward to the 1/4 mile - glad the **** taking has begun in earnest so early - I'll bring the cotton wool for those who are slightly fragile of temprement. That bounder Glen will doubtless force me to empty my wallet half way down to slutterworth with the most expensive petrol going to provide the advantage for the 1/4 mile sprint too :( Maybe you can ask Clark to provide a big roll of that silly blue masking tape so we can seal the front end shutlines for extra pace (I rekon Glen has to crack 180 again on the M6 Toll road!)

@ Rich well organised again - cheers!

Looking forward to it - I'll pack my best drinking trousers and darkest shades...

David.

Naturally...

I'll bring the cotton wool for those who are slightly fragile of temprement.

Neither Herr Maguire or myself will need that...I will not feel the need to hang my head low in shame if I'm second to an RS4...however, if that Ed30 GTI or S3 prove to be as quick as the egos of the owners suggest...I'm taking my ball and going home! :asskicking:

When do I ever use anything other than 95 octane?
I've no history of optimax/V-power...at the rate it consumes it, it gets the cheapest crap going.
Stuttgart horses aren't fussy...unlike tempremental Ingolstadt pit-ponies!

Again?
180+ is Sooooo last year!

Here, here..well done lad.
...and thanks!

Looking forward to it - I'll pack my best drinking trousers and darkest shades...

I'm sure we'll have to put up with a pair of linen slacks, your fave shirt and a fine pair of Gayviators. No?
...thankfully the boating shoes seem to have died.

i will be there on sunday , hope the weathers good this year!

True. Although there were some tempremental toonsers last time in need of bubble wrap and an early bed... Best be prepared!

Was that me at the helm Chris...

Certainly was (and Mark in the passenger seat, screaming). Infact you instigated the whole thing that culminated in said M3 driver having a chat with security.

Your S3 wasn't the only thing to go sideways that weekend!

Ssshhh :ninja:

Should be a fun weekend. I can see the Porsche keys being thrown your way in frustration after several beatings down the 1/4 mile :) I won't be in the convoy on the way down, and I'm swinging past North Yorkshire on the way home, so open road shenanigans will be minimal. Will be good to catch-up!

***. They are really pretty cars - who wouldn't want one in the show?

I'm heading off to the Stobs Classic in my mates Mustard Yellow 356 C Karmann Coupe this weekend - it too is a very pretty car and has a fantastic retro appeal to it... For anyone feeling nostalgic - here's a wee vid...

Hi people.

I just booked my tickets for the show on the sunday.
I did say I was with the club but I understand might be too late to get on the stand.

Have been floating around the site for some time but not really posting much.

Just got myself an 05 A3 2.0T FSI Quattro and I need some inspiration so hopefully see some of you there.

Please add me onto the list for Saturday 21st - booked the tickets on line today and used the drop down option to specify the forum......

Thanks - looking forward to meeting everyone.

Please add me to sunday 22nd, booked the tickets and also specified the forum.
