anyone know the best place to buy a pair of these?

Audi dealer is rather pricey..!!

GSF don't stock them.

any other ideas ?

Try over on RS246.com they seem to pop up over there a lot or just upgrade to the RS4 units if a full set-up pops up ore post a WTB add and someone will get back to you.

I chucked a set of mine away. Discs and pads had only done a couple of thousand miles as well. Didn't realise they'd fit any of the A4's.

D'oh!

What size are the B5 S4 rears?

I will need some new rear discs and pads soon and was thinking of doing the B7 S4 rear with the 034 bits.

even if you didn't want them...you didn't think of eBay?

Yeah I think I will look into it soon.

So just to clarify they bolt on directly? Just need different lines? Would I need custom lines or just the RS4 ones

i got B5 front discs, calipers with hoses, rear discs (almost new), rear pads, hoses for £300 from dhali on RS246.
sold the fronts discs and calipers (no hoses) for £200.
saw some b5 front calipers go for £41 on eBay. wish I had bought them

its funny, seen a bit of banter between the two...very petty if you ask me.
just means I waste more time when I should be working!

probably worth pointing out that the s4 rears will only fit quattro a4's, the FWD's have the hub and bearings integrated into the disk itself, quattros have a seperate hub and disk as does the s4.

The later cars (B6 >) all have the seperate disk and hub regardless of it being FWD or quattro so theres no upgrade path for FWD there either.

the best option i've found for rear calipers - std S4 B5 - is to have them refurbished.

mine has a split boot and a sticking piston. they also need painting.

i looked at www.biggred.co.uk and gave them a bell. they didn't have any spare calipers, but could refurb mine with a heat resistant black paint for 160 gbp plus post.

for that money they'll be better than new. new price is 135 each.

i thought about a pair of used parts, but the chances are they'll need painting and poss refurb soon.
