Hi Guys,

I thought i'd post up pics of my car now wheels, coilovers and grill is now on and then have a general rant.

I've had a problem with the arches at the front (thanks to a certain company messing them up) so the car is going into a bodyshop to have some work done.

I'm happy with the grill, makes it look a bit meaner IMO and i'm also glad I added my own personal touch :)

The car has looked like this for all of 3 days when some kind soul thought they'd rip my rear windscreen wiper off my car.

Whilst I love to modify cars I own to make them stand out and look individual from the rest this reminds me of the bad points. Thankfully I intended on removing the wiper and disconnecting the motor anyway so it's not the end of the world....although it does mean I need to buy a new assembly when I come to sell it..

I ****** love your S3. As soon as pic appeared I just though "wow". Looks really nice- great work.

that looks the nuts, love the grill and those wheels are fanfuckintastic :)

The grill really suits being colour coded and as for those wheels wow, you couldn't really fill those arches out any more... well done looks the dogs danglies and very individual esp as its white!

Mark

Looks lovely Jordon , nice ride hight , sexy wheels ( they'll look better on Phantom though :icon_thumright:) grill looks nice too!

Scum bags , pinching your wiper........Cnuts!!!!!:gun2:

Looks very cool mate, like what you have done with the grille!

With the wheels, have you considered having some of the hub material machined away to raise the ET?? Some wheels have a huge amount of extra material there.. basically so its one casting and the manufacturer machines the wheels to achieve the desired ET number.. sure there will be at least 5mm or so..

Hows the ride on the Bilsteins?

Jonny

The wheels are forged not cast...the face starts to taper from where it sits at the moment and i'm perfectly happy with where they sit now anyway :)

The ride and handling is outstanding, it really feels like you can get through any corner at any speed. Obviously I have no comparison bar standard setup but I am truely blown away with the cornering now (it feels much more planted than my 8L S3 on Koni coilovers)

Car and wheels looks sweet BUT why fit tyres that are obviously too small for the rims? Lets the whole look down IMHO.

Dave

all looks great, loving the stretch. de wipered rear window is the way forward anyway! only joking, some people are fecking scumbags

That grille looks extra special. Can I commision you to do me one too?

I dont like the wheels, I can see why people do, and from the diagonal they look pretty sweet but side on, too much metal. I like to see big gaps, the Kahn loook. But that is my personal taste. They look tres expensive though.

Sorry about the wiper..

THats 2 posts ive read about vandalism in the last 5mins :(

Very nice! Did you try this same colour combination of the painted grill trim but with grey grill instead of black? I think they grey grill would flow a little more with the chrome wheels......I like the black grills a lot when black wheels are used....

Congrats!

The surround is removable so nothing stopping me from doing just that I guess - I think it ties in with the other black bits on the front though?

The grill was really done on a whim, I had no idea what it would look like.

I agree with L60N about the wheels to be honest - not my cup of tea either. I couldn't put my finger on why they didn't "float my boat" and I think he's right - too much metal.

I have to say though, your car looks stunning. I'd sort of discounted white from my colour choice but everytime I see one looking as good as yours, it changes my mind.....very nice.

To disagree with every other post, the wheels look plain nasty, like something that should be on a big Chevy, perhaps at santa pod

Jordans into his " VW bling " ultiamte dubs , VAG shows , ect.

I wouldn't have them on my car , but i can see the appeal for him.

I like the wheels, fair play to you for having the nuts to do it, as they do look very expensive and very high maintenance!

The wheel dept. is of of the`weaker` un-remarkable points of the S3 IMO but I reckon youve certainly adressed that.:respekt:

cheers
Paul

Wheels and grille look sweet me ewd, well done!! Just mind them kurbs and don't let the missus drive it haha!
I like the Euro tyre-stretched look on the right cars. This being one of them.

Sound advice indeed. Missus cabbaged the MONZAIIs on my Golf which nearly ended in divorce.....:scared2:
If the wheels cant be easily refurrbed then keep the keys hidden from the missus.:eyebrows:

Respect to anyone who personalises their car and makes it their own. It's good to stand out from the crowd with so many Audi's about.
To my own personal taste the wheels are too 'old school' for a bang up to date S3. I'd expect to see them on an old pimped MK1 Golf GTI. Maybe thats the idea though? A tongue in cheek throw back? Either way.... Good work mate. Love the grille.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Yes, i've had this comment a few times and I do know what you mean...they are kind of a cross between the BBS RS/RM's of old (as seen on many a 80's VW/Merc/Quattro).

I thought they were a good mix between that and the OEM A6 BBS/Speedlines that look so good on the A3. - Just a bit more dish and shorter spokes.

Anyway, they'll probably keep me entertained until the end of summer.

I'm not knocking them at all, in a retro way they're cool. Isn't this a very American style of modifying? I know they like their old school rims on new cars...

:iagree: But if I had the money spare, it wouldn't be unique for long! Good luck getting the arch sorted, mind if I ask where it was that made a mess of it?

archenemy - it's a long story but the short version of it is they undertook the work without my permission and made a complete balls up of it so now it needs to go into a bodyshop for repair. :motz:

Not sure it's american? Certainly a lot of Euro cars out there on similar rims and old skool ronals etc think it's just different as the majority of people with new cars won't modify in this way whereas anyone who's owned an older golf or something wouldn't think twice about slamming it on some dished Keskins or something. I think it looks way better than standard personally but only my opinion, doesn't mean it actually does!

Check out cleaned.be or edition38.com for loads of similarly tweaked motors, a few really cool audi's

Looks good mate - get some proper pics of the car to really show it off, as I am sure it looks so much better in the flesh!

Definately get yourself some new number plates, either german pressed or metro style as they really do let the car down!

personally, i would source a Northern Irish reg plate with 2 or 3 digits

My friends dad is selling his...IXI 32 looks sweet!

BTW what are the specs for the wheels/tyres? It really is something I'd like to do when I've got the money. (Don't worry, it won't be for a couple of years so you'll stay unique for a good while yet!)

Wheels are BBS GT 19 x 8.5 ET27 5x112, tyres are Toyo Proxies 215/35/19.

I've love to see more modified S3's, but at the end of the day it's money down the pan and possible warranty issues with the suspension etc so I can see why people are reluctant to do it.

I have a private plate that I was bought for christmas but i've been putting off transfering it, I wouldn't run pressed or german plates as it's not worth the hassle.

No probs mate - I havent had any hassle at all from my pressed plates and i have had them for 2 years!

damn, those are narrow tyres for 8.5 inch width rims. some people like the look of the stretched tyre, as long as it doesnt compromise the handling or slip when cornering then its your call, look ok to me.

car is nice, BBS rims are always nice, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I like your car, it looks different but really good, esp at the front.

whats with the pink rear window sticker? are you a woman or something??!!
