We should meet in the terminal bit, where the shops are, then all go in convoy lol! "Sorry mate, you cant go in that carriage, Audi only"

If we want to be on the same shuttle we well need a ticket with the same letter, which means meeting before we go through the main gates, at the service station i recon would be best like last time.

Count me in for this too - thought i may be going away but not looking that likely anymore.

Yeah im gonna swap grilles while he's not looking :p

Welcome aboad S3izzo, So can we put you in the defo list or on the fence?

Penciled into diary - need to read up on the whole thread to get the jiist but you can put me in the defo list (unless anything drastic happens i'm there)

We can buy the Swiss vignette before we go.

Order them online from here.

Like Dave said earlier, it's £21 +£5 booking fee and is valid until Jan 31st 2009. If we all bought them in advance it would be one less thing to worry about and would save us a bit of time and hassle over there.

Nice one!

lol

Be alright if they did, wouldn't it! Got mine ordered anyway, just need to know when to rearrange the channel tunnel ticket for... any news Alex?

Err, not yet, sorry guys, been really busy, I *should* be free tonight to plan everything...

Have a super time you guys. I'm sure you'll enjoy the driving.

I'm off to Germany (mosel Valley) for a week and then on for a further week in Switzerland (near Davos) on the 14 June. It cannot come soon enough.

With regard to the Vignette - it very easy to purchase one as you cross the border. When I cross on the A5 at Basel it only takes a couple of minutes and you don't even have to get out of the car!

Monday
09:00h Sleep!

These are very approximate times, I'll work them out exactly if everone is happy with the above. Does anyone have a problem with us leaving on Friday morning? if so we can leave a day later (or Friday night maybe) but get back very late on the Monday.

The hotels might be a bit of an issue, in that we might end up in 2 or 3 different hotels depending on availability, but they are all in the same areas.

Does anyone have any comments/suggestions/questions?

Mr Alex Green aka Maximillion Cooper... excellent once again for the organisation... sounds sweet and mouth watering just thinking about it.
As for me not a defo yet still deciding... Got a mate who probs will come too with his RS4 if he can sort out his cover for work.
Fingers crossed i can go.... esp after our last experience.

:) hope so too!

Friday morning is more than fine by me. If we leave it too late I'll probably need to take the Tuesday off work too, with having to carry on up to Leeds, not to mention those that are even further north!

I'll have to dig out a decent map to have a look at the route. Sounds good to me though.

Google maps/earth is good to check the route. Especially google earth, you can see the awesome mountains and roads in 3D!

That is a good plan!!

I will decide next week if I am up to.. I might prefer to be windsurfing in Portugal.

If I decide to go I will join you only on the first two days, Sunday I take my route to monaco, Nice, Barcelona and then Porto as I am on holiday I might take the entire week driving about...

But possibly I will be windsurfing instead... I have to make up my mind yet...

Wind surfing?! pa! nothing compared to Audisportball 2000!! ;)

Plan looks good, can someone give me a rough figure for the petrol costs? As this will be the biggest bill of the weekend im just trying to plan my finances in advance.

ok so totalling my figures up for 2 people im estimating a sum of around £1200, is this fairly accurate? This is based on:

1. £150 hotels
2. £200 Eurotunnel
3. £150 spending money
4. £100 insurance (for my codriver) and european breakdown cover (£45)
5. £20 vignette
6. £600 petrol (im getting 35MPG at the moment so i may spend slightly less than the 8P's on fuel)

It will be a lot less than that mate, I recon including everything < £900, my first trip to the verdon gorge was around 1900 miles and two nights in a hotel - worked out at about £350 per person (me and a co-driver) so around £700 total.

I'll work it out later...

The route above adds up to 1770 miles, so say 1800 at 24mpg = 75 Gallons = 340 litres = about £400.

Great, £900 does sound more reasonable! Im really looking forward to this now, the only thing holding me back is my codriver, but if he backs out im sure there's others who'd love to come

It'll be well worth it too! Trust me, this is going to be amazing!! :)

Ill just have to drive really sensibly on the way down then lol

Drive like a total granny an you'll do 600 miles in a tank and a half  Although I don't think I've ever got more than 320 miles out of a tank! But I don't give the S an easy time! :)

****** hell, i must drive like a real nerd, im getting 400-420 on a regular basis, dont worry guys ill do my best to keep up lol

I've just sent a mail to everyone on the list asking whether they can confirm if they can come or not.

We have plently of time, but it would be good to finialise the plan as soon as possible making sure everyone is happy with it.
