Just found these pics. Look better than I thought they would

If that was lowered a tad it'd be a perfect car- the R8 wheels really suit it!!The only other criticism is the 4 exhausts...

Those R8's are GORGEOUS on an 8P .. looks even better than RS4 New, as everbody has those nowadays.. Hmm.. wonder where to get quality replicas .. Anyone? :yum:

I thought about having R8 reps on my next sportback, like most others I've got RS4 reps on my current SB they do suit it but I'm getting a bit bored of them now.

Looks super except that it needs to be lowered without the quad pipes...

Does anybody know where to get that Chorme strip on the lower edge of the doors? Also, are those Vortex side skirts?

Looks like its got a S3 front conversion as well!

I'm not sure me ,the gaps are too big between the spokes, the calipers and disc's look puny!

Not a fan , i'd stick with my S3 wheels thank you .

I considered some R8 reps a few months ago but wasn't convinced they'd totally suit the car. These look quite good though.
I'd like to see a 3 door A3/S3 with some 19's for comparison.
On the subject of Ebay, most of those reps are dog sh*te and you don't want bad quality wheels with a diamond cut face.
Have a look at Hartmann wheels (www.hartmannwheels.com). They're american but some places do import them. Probably some of the best quality Audi replicas. They'd be my choice.

Paul.

On closer inspection the wheels on that car do have a nice deep 'kink' to the spoke. Most reps i've seen are very flat faced.

:iagree:

they don't look 'special' like they do on the R8, sitting very high and the wheels need spacing, much better looking / suited wheels available imo

@ pnh80 - good web site -interesting to click the 'see these wheels on a car'

Well lets get it into perspective...Those wheels are smaller and not OEM quality for a kick off. I don't think those are even cut face like the OEM wheels are they?. Also the fact the car isn't lowered or spaced correctly is no reflection on the wheels....just the owner!

On the right car, set up properly i recon some R8's would look the business. The new S3 5 spoke wheels shown on the sportback on the Audi site are horrible. They look like a fussy, less agressive version of the R8's. I know which i'd go for...

look better on this!!

There are a few nice examples of those wheels on the Hartmann site. Some on a TT i think?
They seem to really suit some cars but look appauling on others.

must be reps, can't imagine genuine R8 wheels would fit an A3! interesting that it's sat outside an Audi dealer with them on!

if it was lower and spaced i would without doubt like the wheels better but there are a hundred other wheels i would chose first personally, I like reps to a certain point but an A3 to an R8 is a fairly big leap. I reckon the Sportecs you mentioned in another thread are much nicer and more suited

I agree but when you start looking at Sportecs, MTM's, Volk's, high end BBS etc etc...You're talking almost double the price of some decent replicas.

I like the 5 spoke R8 reps. Im sure in the right size, spaced on the right car they would look the bizzle. Shizzle ma nizzle.

Gonna play devils advocate here as I don't like them. Can't think they're OEM either as I'm sure R8 (rears especially) wouldn't fit the A3.

Have to say (and all IMO of course) Audi wheel design has gone down hill of late. I'm not liking the new S6 or RS6 wheels either.

I was over with my dealer earlier and he was telling me that they are supplying the A5 with the talon reps for about 2 grand instead of the 2500 it costs for the OEM ones. I asked how that would affect the warranty and he said it wouldn't.

Yeah, how's the look of R8-reps on an S3 I wonder ... pics anyone?

Some one on here had a Solar Orange S3 for sale with 19" R8 reps on it. Don't remember who it was but if you're still a member...Get some photos up buddy!
