SOUNDPROOFING - Help with footwell removal

Hey people,

You guys helped me last time, so I guess this is a good place to ask again.

This time I need to add a little soundproofing material under the footwell area, and around the firewall (both sides), mainly carpets and side panels. Does anyone know how to go about removing these? Anyone tried?, Any help on any areas would be greatly appreciated.
Problem is that I have the 2.0 TDI 140 cv unit, and it sounds a lot... I mean the engine is clearly heard in the inside.

Why not fix the cause of the noise instead of trying to hide it? Putting soundproofing around the firewall is a fire risk for starters!!

There is no cause for the noise... its just a diesel engine. Audi still has no idea of making diesels that dont sound like a tractor. And now that I have it, there is not much I can do about it.

The sound proofing material is a specific flame retardant heat resistant type, so I will be ok.

Any ideas on the dismounting?

Sure, once above 70 or 80 km/hour its fine. Problem is at low dears 1-2-3, low speed around 1500-2500 it sound like a truck.

No one got pics or instructions from an ETKA or from a manual?

There will be no ETKA procedure for this!! Its not a VAg procedure!!!

If you must add extra sound deadening then its at your own risk, I dont feel the need to add this - it does not seem that loud to me!

I am not asking for a procedure for adding extra sound proofing material, just a quick sketch or explanation on how to dismount the plastics and carpets under and around the footwell area inside the car. When you say "at my own risk", I don't get it, what am I risking?
