Audi UK web site states that all 3 door car ordered since Friday 2nd May would be the face lift version.

Yet, they are still unable to provide details on pricing, options etc two weeks later.

The website online configurator still shows the old model, and the brochure section does not have any A3 brochures (I am assuming the lack of electronic brochures indicates that printed brochures will be available not too soon).

The german website had the configurator updated a while ago, so I guess they have the information required.

I called Audi UK, and they said they had no details, and I should contact a dealer!

I guess people are supposed to order new cars worth £20K+, and then get a surprise in term of equipment etc.

I found it amazingly amateur that Audi UK cannot provide specification on cars already on order... It is as if they were not aware at all that this was coming, and haven't be able to get the details after two weeks.

:weight_lift2:

The dealers have the base pricing of the car along with some option prices, thats how I managed to order one. Alot of the new option pricing hasnt been decided yet but dealers were advised to follow the A3 Cabriolet pricing for most the the options.

The facelifted A3 is due to be debut on the Madrid Car show next week so expect brochures and online configurator to follow shortly.

The german Audi site has the new A3 on their configurator but they have different spec's, options and pricing that the UK.

I telephoned Audi Customer Services this morning and was told the Brochure and Price Lists would not be available until the middle of June.

When I asked why it was taking so long he replied that the new model was not being released until then!!!

What do you want to know??
I have all the prices, pictures of what the new model will look like, the new standard wheels for all varieties...

Where do you want me to start?? I asked for the info at an audi dealer and they gave me this document...

It states:

New Generation models will START production as follows:

A3 and S3 between weeks 22/08 and 27/08. (depending on engine/transmission)
A3 and S3 Sportback between weeks 24/08 and 27/08 (depending on engine/transmission)

Curently the SE and Sport are £2000 more than base, with S Line another 1800 (I didnt really need to tell you that...

New prices: SE £650 more, Sport £1200 on top of the SE Price, then S Line another £1550 on top of the two previous prices.

If there is enough interest I will try taking pictures of the new dials and stuff but it isnt going to be good quality as they are in black and white.

I can get this document photo copied if anyone wants it...

Eddie

By Variants, I take it you mean SE Sport and S Line...??

Standard: Manual Air Conditioning, Rear Floor mAts, Frequency cloth, New 162 7-spoke alloy wheels, Electric heated door mirrors, Chorus radio/CD

SE (inaddition to standard equipment): 4 spoke leather multi function steering wheel, front centre armrest, front foglights, New 16" 6-spoke alloy wheels, DIS

Sport (inaddition to SE equipment): Sports seats, sports suspension (-15mm) Dynamic fabric upholstery, Concert radio/cd with aux-in, aluminium medial inlays, New 17" star design alloy wheels, automatic climate control.

S-Line (in addition to Sport equipment): Sline body Styling, Sline badging on front wings, black sprint cloth/leather upholstery, black headlining, Matt brushed aluminium inlays, New 18" 7-arm double spoke alloy wheels (Current S3 ones...)

Anything else??

Yikes - the current S3 alloys are going on the S-Line?
Do you mean the RS4 style one's?

It the FULL options list that I'm after. What options will be available and which models will they be available on. Xenons for example.

Optional equipment:

I quote " A full range of optional equipment will be available shortly within the price and specification guide. "

So it doesnt go into too much detail. Sorry.

I can however tell you that new options are available:

Audui Magnetic Ride - Available on 1.8 TFSI and 2.0TFSI and 2.0TDI (140 and 170)

Acoustic parking system plus - front and rear sensors

Parrelle park assist - sensor-control sterring aid to assist parallel parking and ultrasonic, with audible parking sensors front and rear.

Xenon PLus headlights with LED daytime running lights (optional on S Line modles only).

Regarding the S3 Alloys on the Sline: Sorry, my mistake, they are very much like the RS4 alloys, The picture is rubbish, so cant really tell. The new S3 wheels are very muich like the current ones, but the kinda thicken out at the end. (i'm not the best of descibers). The are officially called 18" "S" design alloy wheels.

Hang on. I thought the new ones were going into production Week 22 onwards? Is it later now?

I think you will find that the 22/08 refers to week 22 of 2008 rather than 22nd August. Most things to do with production in Audi are described as by week numbers. Week 22 is week beginning 26 May 2008, week 24 is w/b 9 June 2008 and week 36 (for the 2.0TDI-170) is w/b 1 September 2008.

Audi usually change their model years at the end of May beginning of June each year.

Does this mean that ordering a 170 around now will result in getting the current shape?

All A3 ordered from 28th April onwards will be the facelift, it's just that the 170 TDI wont be on the production line till week 36 meaning your order will carry longer waiting period.

That is if you specify you want the new CR TDI engine, You might be able to order the old shape one with the current TDI if someone cancels their order for the newer one

Thats what I meant David; thanks for putting it more explicitly than I did!

I think the A3 cab seems the best place to get some kind of idea / guesswork on what we can get as available options on each variant- looks like a month's wait until we get the new brochure then.

Either that or those with German can dabble with audi.de & make some inspired guessing.

Alot of those german options arent available in the UK, I inquired about the 18" RS4's in titanium/anthracite colour and the FBMFSW both available on the german version but was told they werent available for the UK model, the FBMFSW will be a S3 exclusive.

But thats not gonna stop me from retrofitting one

Alot of the members of this forum already has that info pack, I have it on my pc in PDF format.

If you have a PDF document with the details for the new versions and options, could you please upload it and provide a link?

For the magnetic ride suspensions, I am under the impression that they are manual (switch to use) as opposed to self-controled as on the TT, given the Audi description given.

Several people have said to look at the convertible for the options, but many options are not there: front & rear parking sensor, noise-reduction windscreen etc

Thats just a current S-Line with the DRL Photoshopped on btw.

The bonnet line, side mirrors, front bumper and fog lamps belongs to the current A3 model.

I wish they'd pull their finger out. I'm seriously considering buying one and want some details of what I do and don't get!! I can't believe they're selling a new model without literature....not very professional, is it?

All the options available are on the A3 Cab brochure already on the Audi site. That what I have ordered my options for my new S3 off being delivered in August, the options that were not on the S3 configurator were on the A3 cab one!

I just think Audi have made a joke out of themselves in the way they've handled this whole facelift scenario.
People placing orders a week before the facelift deadline and not being told about it, dealers not knowing 100% if customers cars are facelift or not, not knowing delivery and production dates etc.... It's all a bit rubbish really. You;d think we were buying Fiestas, not so called built to order prestige cars...

Did you not know Audi is a secret society, never any different always keeping information secret. I have had the same problems in the past.

Mark

They must be scared sh*tless of losing any money or having to give away bigger discounts than necessary.... Think it's called treating your customers like mushrooms (keep them in the dark and feed then sh*t)

:iagree: It does make me wonder what I'm buying into. Disorganised, to say the least.

EDIT - I still want one though!

That's typical of UK company! The full details have been available on the Audi Germany website for weeks. I know they have to be translated into English but surely Audi UK have the resources to get it done quickly. Probably down to endless meetings to decide the exact UK specs and options.

Even so, it's hardly as though the facelift has suddenly been dropped on their desks. You'd have thought that the finalised plans would have been completed long before launch. Sounds like it's all been left to the last minute to me.

Nah just as you say so they can still sell cars!

Lets be honest if they told people ordering that a facelift was coming out they would probs not order and wait. Then they would be stuck with pre facelift cars they could not shift!

Wrong I know but business!
