The sooner everyone is confirmed the sooner we can book and the more chance we have of all staying in the same hotel(s).

Yup, much better with a co-pilot! :)

Anyone not got a turbo on their cars? Been reading up a bit and if you don't have one you'll lose a lot of power at high altitude! My mates merc is a 1.8 non-turbo! Might struggle to move! ;)

about 1% less per 100 meters apparently, and I think we're going to exceed 2000 meters on the trip :)

at 2000 meters a 140bhp 1.8 NA will be pushing out around 112bhp!

Lose power at high altitude.!! :wtf:How does that happen?

Don't worry mate, you've got a turbo, it'll just take you a bit longer to spool up!

In N/A engines the air pressure effects the power of the engine (the less oxygen the less power).

Didnt know that.... Cool. Nice one Alex.

I've got a feeling this is gonna be a trip to remember too ;)

Sure hope so! When my mate Rob saw the list of people who might be coming he said it was an invasion not a convoy! :)

Should be a blast :)

Yeah Ali, the last trip was a blast for sure!!

Its looking positive for this one too! Im sure a fair few will drop out for various reasons, but even half a dozen cars or so would make it a real good weekend.

These trips make driving fun again :racer:

BTW Ali, I should be in Luton for around 12 on sunday.

I'll ring you when i get close...

Did u book the ambulance for Kris? ;)

And wheres Mitch78??? IM hoping he can make this planned excursion. Such a shame he missed out last time :(

Yeah, hope so too. He's already paid for the eurotunnel so should make the trip a bit cheaper for him!

I'm looking like a positive for this one, the wifes booked a holiday for october so I'm safe on that front. Although I may be flying solo, stangley very few people are willing to co-pilot me.

J.

Wicked no problem mate. Meet you same place probably or at the venue.
Any idea of the venue BTW?
You going to be in your own car?
Got an air ambulance ready though :slapped: lol

Im not sure if im in my car mate.. I think theres quite a few going so i may be piling in with someone else.

Besides, need to get it in for steering rack #2 and a new seat.

I dont know where its at right now mate, but if i find out i'll pm ya ;)

New seat?? Whats happened to it?

Ok chicago rock cafe.. bit of an unusual place to have a fight competition. More of a nightclub / bar
Oh well should still be a good sunday afternoon. :icon_thumright:
Foody fa fa:)

Not down my way :) If it's not the old slappers fighting over some lipstick it's some chav boy getting upset as someone's look at his bird....

Lol. It meant to be a Thai boxing fight well several fights. In a cage i believe... in a nightclub. Just thought strange to hold a seated fight there. :beerchug:

Us lads up north will fight anywhere ;) lol

Anyway, it should be a good day, and chance for a good catch up!

P.S. the seats been ******* me off, the bolster on the drivers side has a serious gimp in it.

So i moaned about it whilst booking it in for the creaking steering, which theyre now saying could be some dodgy bushes??

I dont care as long as it gets sorted (second time lucky i hope)

P.P.S. Spacers ordered today, for a birthday present!! I love my missus :D ;)

Really looking forward to this now...struggling to find a co-pilot at the mo but 3`ish months to go I reakon I`ll talk someone into it?:beerchug: Thinking on the line of fuel-trying to keep up with you `S3 ers` I reakon I might need to stop more frequently-along with MB & the guy in the R32??? ...Be worth it though!!! Need to try and get a decent camera by then too-any ideas??? Mind you if I`m going it solo then I wont be taking many!:photo::icon_thumright: How far in advance do we need to book the tunnel etc

Trust me, the S3 drinks with the best of them when you press on a bit!

The tunnel isn't usually an issue, it's the hotel we need to make sure we book in good time, especially since there are so many of us. I recon get everything booked up a month before hand will be pretty safe.

Just thinking, any sort of documentation that we might need to get sorted beforehand would be handy to know too, ive travelled abroad before to Nice but never to the Alps so it may well be different for different countries?

Passport
drivers liscence
Insurance cert
hotel booking
tunnel booking.

Thats it for paperwork ;)

When you take your car to Europe you have to carry your V5 Registration Document with you as well. Also make sure you notify your insurance company that you are taking your car abroad otherwise you may find your not insured. A European Health Insurance Card that entitles to you to basic heathcare in another EU country is always a good idea. These are free from the NHS but you must apply for one.

Also if you are going to be driving in Switzerland and you wear glasses for driving you must carry a spare pair with you.

Spare bulbs, flourscent jackets and warning triangles are also a requirement in most EU countries.
