PIAA/Silvervision bulb change with lots of pics

Hmm - not sure if PRI Racing do the bulbs mate (had a quick look and couldn't find them).

autobulbsdirect.com have them though. The Silvervision bulbs are £13.45 a pair and the side repeaters are £4.99 a pair, so you'll be looking at about £32 delivered. I might be able to negotiate a discount with them if more people want to go for them as well.

Phantom might be able to get some through his contact when we go for the full order, so we'll try via PRI Racing with the other bulbs, or you might have to get those separately from the main order - I'll add them anyway for the moment mate and we'll see what we can do when we go for an order.

I don't have Xenons, but want to replace all the bulbs with white ones - and whatever the repeaters need.

I know I need H7s for the headlight and fogs, but what else do I need. If PIAA do all I need in the Mirror Whites, can I jump in on the group buy?

Marc,

You'll need H7s for the dipped beam, H1 for the main beam and the same sidelights as the rest of us. Personally I wouldn't bother with the fogs, but that's up to you.

The good news is it looks like you can get them all in the PIAA chrome mirror range, so no problem to add them to the group buy if you want to.

BUT, the thing that might put you off is the price (prices quoted from main PIAA UK webpage)

H7 - £56.75 a pair x 2
H1 - £56.75 a pair
Wedges (sides) - £11.74

So you'd be looking at £181.99 excl VAT for that lot!! :faint:

The side repeaters you can get here

If you want to go for it as part of the group buy, no problem - we'll just have to hope we can get a decent discount!

Anybody able to recommend something a bit cheaper that will do the job?
 
Um it may be me, but I cant tell the difference between the normal indicator blubs and the PIAA ones, they both look orange to me.

I know PIAA are a top notch product but I have to say that I am not feeling the blue shine on the blubs.



I changed to chrome indicator bulbs a week after I got my A3, I had to go to a load of different car tunning places to find a total chrome blub as they all only stocked the blueish PIAA or Phillips bulbs. Managed to source them at R-Tec in St. Albans in the end, not sure what make they where but they are totally chrome when off and bright orange when on.

Will post some pics tommorow.

I know what you mean re the blue tint - hence why we're all waiting for the new DRL chrome mirror replacements!

I used to have totally chrome indicator bulbs, but the level of light that came from them was crap and I didn't feel safe when using them as you couldn't really see the orange from the bulb. IMO it's better to be safe than suffer a bump, so I went with the Philips Silvervision bulb - they are loads better than the stock indicator bulbs and still let through a decent amount of orange light so are nice and bright and easy to see at junctions.

Try the Philips X-Treme Power bulbs Marc or Vision Plus.

The H7 X-Treme Power bulbs are about £29.95 a pair.
The H1 Vision Plus bulbs are £18.45 a pair.

If you want to just go with the PIAA sidelights, I'll add you to the list - let me know.

Yup could be interested...thanks for posting the info - as Marc says, need to know your shipping charges.....

We don't want the H227 bulbs though, we're waiting for the new Chrome Mirror equivalent. PIAA in the UK have said the new bulbs should be in the UK middle of this month - do you have any more details?

Phantom - can you get a rough idea of the discount you can get from you contact at PRI Racing so we can go with the cheapest option :p

The DRL and sidelight bulbs fitted in the pictures at the start of this thread are they the ones that the group buy are looking at getting, if so do the bulbs fit all Audi A3's or only those with Xenon headlights? Just I'm getting a 1.4 TFSi Sportback (without xenons :crying:) in the next couple of weeks and wouldn't mind getting some.

Hi Mark, the DRL's will be no good for you as you don't have xenons, but you'll be fine getting the side lights. The group buy bulbs are for the Chrome Mirror range - the pics are the Xtreme White range. The Chrome Mirror side lights are available now - clicky

Feel free to add your name to the group buy for these - the more the merrier :)
 
I would like to order

My S3 is blue so this will be good!

Problem is that none of the shops send this bulbs to Slovenia or Croatia! Do you have a solution for me? Can I pay someone here with paypal and that that person send me these bulbs? I will be very thankfull if someone will be so kindfull!

EDIT: I found them on ebay in code 1156 !
