Been at my local dealership today for some work, saw the new A3 cab in black with black leather n black hood, my mate turned the fancy lights on....... What a load of Poo !!

Ive just cancelled my order for facelift S3 incidentally, dont think its worth it if its going to look like this a3 cabbie, dont get me wrong the car is great if your name is tony and your boyfriend is guy or youre a girl................ as for the leds, they look **** ! R8 - yes, tts - yes, A3 - no !! they just dont have quite the same effect or majic but dont let me put you off its a matter of opinion..

Incidentally I had a sit in a gun metal RS 6 avant ...... all i can say is "OOOOOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE " WHAT A MOTOR !!

Oh yes don't forget they look great on the A5 also.
 
As far as I know it was a 2.0 T Sline, hence the leds, come to think of it there was a white one there too but it didnt have the leds and was a lower engine spec so yeah im guessing it was an sline.
 
I ll reserve my judgement till I see the new Hatchback version in the flesh. I am not a fan of cabriolets from the start and I think all cabriolets looks hideous regardless of brands and models
 
didnt have a camera with me, just a blackberry one which isnt great, its over in stockport if anyone wants to go see it, one thing that does stand out tho is the colour of the new rims, theyre almost a carbon/gun metal, theyd be alrite in a bigger size. As for the led business, all fur coat on the new a3...... the dealer says they will be better and i quote "more aggressive" on the S3, however im not willing to take a punt to find out !!
 
Wow so the S-Line alloys are the 7 arm twin spoke in gun metal finish? I've been asking my dealer that question since I ordered the new A3 as I am in love with the darkened looked of the RS4 alloys, I think it suits my new phantom black car perfectly!
 
I dunno about that captain, all i know is they were darker looking like a carbon finish/very light black but big wide spokes dont recall any 7arm twin spokes, but if thats what you expect then perhaps the one i saw isnt sline, who knows

These are the S-Line alloys. Was it anything like it?
 
No mate they were much darker for a start and wider thick spokes, im guessing it wasnt an sline, if that pic is the official sline then what i saw isnt, the best way to describe the ones i saw is they look like similar to the old style rs wide spokes but they are like a carbon look.

Maybe something like that? If its not the 7 arm twin spoke or the current S-Line 5 arm alloys then it most likely to be a sport model and their DRL arent actual LED's, more likely to be halogen like the new A4 non S-line

I'm not a fan of the LED's at the top either. Think it spoils the look IMO. I cant see why they have them running along the bottom for the rest of the range but plumped them at the top for the A3. I'm glad I got mine before the facelift!

Been to have a look at the cabriolet this morning. They only had the Sport models in 1.8T and 2.0T, both in black. Look very plain, quite bland from the outside but so do the current SE and Sport. Will have to see if the S-line looks any better.

Only things I noticed inside were a slightly different steering wheel and the info in the DIS is white rather than red which looks quite cool. Seems quite strange to be sat in an A3 with no roof!

Does look a bit weird on the R8 but get used to it - LED lighting is taking over. Thanks to the low power consumption and long life span, I reckon you'll see them everywhere - cars, homes, offices, the lot.
 
For the first time today I saw a Black 08 A3 Cab 2.0T with Xenons + LEDs and it looked pretty darn good!

The rear lights are definitely much nicer in real life and it just looked beautiful!

Dunno if it's a masculine car but I wouldn't say it's feminine neither so yea. Otherwise it was very very nice. Good stuff

Saw a White one in Munich about 6 weeks ago and with the roof down it looked great (LED's) as well. Roof up ????? Not so good.
 
My Dad works for my local Audi a couple of days a week and is being offered a deal on a Ibis White Sportback 2.0 TDI S-line with Open Sky roof and Optics pack for September delivery... It could look good but I'm just not sure about it yet! He's seen the pics of the white one on the Audi UK site and likes it. I think he is too old to be driving something as look at me as that!
 
There are no S lines in the country yet the dark rims you see are audi aerodynamic rims that are supposed reduce drag. Having seen a number of colours on this car it looks better in light colours rather than dark, think black looks horrible, had one on test drive for half day last week. Loved it, but then I have had a full spec S Line on order in liquid blue with blue top on order for just over two months. Can't wait. Expected some time in June.:hubbahubba:
 
I've just seen my first A3 Cabriolet on the road. I only spotted it because of the LED front driving lights. The car was black with a black hood so didn't stand out as being a cabriolet.

I must say I'm not keen on the LED driving lights. Personally I prefer the single round light. I think they would look a lot better if it was just a single straight line of LEDs.
 
I quite like that! Might be because of the colour and that the DRLs aren't on!

I'm just jealous cos my Dad will have a nicer car than me :bye:

He rang me last night to discuss options as he has decided he doesn't want the Open Sky or Black optics, so I said he should get the roof rails instead as Sportbacks dont look right without them. He still wants a white one though!

Apparently the facelift S-line will only have half leather as standard? Annoys me how they do that when new models come out then add full leather at a later date.
