I think so.

Brave soul!

Mind, you, me and Kris (co-pilot) have a 300miler before we even get down to you. I dont think it would have been safe for me to go it alone. ;)

Fair point! I've got some stuff to do in the morning, but I I'll try to get 4 or 5 hours of sleep in before we leave :)

 Wow. Nice one mate. Amazing route. Will keep us busy that day for sure. Amazing.
Cant wait.

have a great time everyone, I want to see some good pics when you get back!

It's a damn shame you can't come mate, it is going to be a blast! Yeah, the photos will be online soon! :)

Have fun all that are going I'm very jelous - just a word of warning though, particluarly siu00adg as you're doing all the driving. I've just got out of hospital with a DVT (blood clot) and Pulmonary Embolism (when the clot travels to your lungs) that the docs think was caused by my drive to the alps and back (IE being in the same position for a long time).
To be honest though if you've got cruise control you'll be sweet as you can move your leg around. I remember on the journey my left leg was fine but my right did start to ache quite badly from being in the same position - I even used my left leg on the gas pedal for a bit!! I was really gutted my car didn't have cruise and it's a must for me now for every future car!!

Yep enjoy yourselves! Just be aware of the 110 and 130km/h stretches of motorways. They often stick cameras on the 110km/h parts!

Thanks mate, I'll be careful to avoid DVTs, the good thing about the S3 is you won't be driving for long before you have to get out and put more petrol in!! ;) I'll have a good walk around each fuel stop. Yeah, cruise control is a must for long journeys like this.

p.s. does anyone that is going have an insurance policy that will cover them on any car? If I get tired, rather than having to pull over it would be good for our ETA if someone else can take over for a bit. It is annoying none of my mates could make it really.

Im waiting to hear from Kris about his insurance deets. I'll let you know as soon as i do ;)

I've just got off the phone with him now.

He's got the same clause as you and I, that he can drive other cars with the owners permission etc etc.

Ive told him to bring his docs tommorow anyway so were all good ;)

That was an awesome weekend guys, pleasure meeting you all.

unfortunately I lost the photos I took cos my sd card died :-( thankfully I didn't take many anyway since I was driving all the time :)

can't wait to see the rest of the photos and videos! :)

Indeed can't wait for a look see!

Now, to save for the new camera, get a driving buddy and await a new event! I do get the biggest buzz from convoy driving!

Looks good so far.

Hello hello all.
Back again... dont want to be back what can you do. Wish we were still there. Went tooooo quick. Dont know where to start.
Firstly a BIG thanks to Alex for organising all this.. the whole trip, the AMAZING routes he took us on... really were incredible. Cant explain it really. Hopefully our pictures will give you the idea.
Secondly was great meeting Alex, Leon and Kris. Really nice guys... Leon and Kris kept up the entertainment with their WIGS and were a real laugh to be with.
The roads there are like they were made to enjoy driving a car on... Just perfect in every way! Smooth and silky. Beautiful grippy bends and the most amazing scenery... i don't think even the cameras can show the true beauty of the Verdon gorge.
Made our trouble with the French Fuzz... wouldnt have been a proper road trip if we hadn't. Would've helped if i didnt attempt a u-turn on a one way road. But even they were loving it!!

Going to sort out the pictures later and put them up.

Leon / Alex shall i start a new thread or shall we just stick them all up on this one.??

Anyways guys if you ever want to go and experience it... DO IT.... trust me. Was truly EPIC. (Esp Monaco beach) ahem.
Definately going to plan the next one for sure. Save up and im up for another one.

No worries mate :) glad you enjoyed it :)

Man, I wish I was back there now! It was such an awesome weekend!

Yeah, I recon start a new thread and stick a link on the end of this one.

I'll start another thread about that potential August trip to Italy and Switzerland at some point too :) Man I'm turning into Maximillian Cooper! (but without the cash!)

lol. Yeah we got our very own Maximillian Cooper here. But seriously mate without your knowledge and leadership it would have been a flop. You knew exactly what you were doing and knew where to go... Really appreciate it.
Italy and Switzerland sounds excellent. Better start saving now!

Going to start a new thread now. So if you and Leon want to put up your stuff on there too.
Got tonnes of pictures will have to filter throught them.

Hope everyone here at AS.net enjoy...
