Hi all,

Just got myself a 54 plate A4 cab - absolutely love it

Bit different from the cars I sell, Roush Mustangs and other American muscle

Looking forward to sorting out a few mods

Picture from trip down to Alps - roof down can;t be beaten round there!

like the roushe... a lot.

my historical lineup.
2006_8th_January_015.sized.jpg

92 Audi 80 2.8E quattro my first audi, loved it so then bought this for the missus...

A6_DSCF0898.sized.jpg

02 1.8T SE avant. brilliant bus, done 60k in 2 years, great family car although do wish i had gone for a TDi at the time.

sold the 80 quattro saloon as i fancied a coupe, andother 2.8 coupe quattro this time.
DSCF2586.sized.jpg

had it for 2.5 years best car i have ever owned. but growing family meant i went for another avant, so we have a family of avants! the current ride

Picture_187.jpg

03 2.5tdi quattro sport, leather/alcantara, the full Bose setup, parking radar, aluminum pack, and the old avus style wheels, which i really like. Car came with all the above. Mods? I do like the boot spoiler ala S4 and quite want one. Also already considering a remap as the sub 1500rpm lag keeps catching me out.
edit: also fancy privacy glass for the back set of windows. car handles far better than i imagined. Although interior despite being well spec'ed doesn't feel as robust as the B4 cars did. Then again, all wee things i have to tend to, otherwise this is a good all round car.

ive had her for near a year now she was an ex rep car so she done the miles 160tho but i picked her up for just under 5k so i was well pleased 2 find a phase2 that cheap :)

anyway when i 1st got her

...coming on well mate, looks lovely!
Loving the Exhaust, tips look spot on..

Whats the exhaust drone like??

How many tons of stones did it take to fill your drive!!;)

Cheers J7USS & Niknak.

The drone is a bit more than standard, but not too bad. Still keep thinking people are now gonna call me a Nova-Boy ! It's not intrusive, just sounds deeper than normal. Nice at the top end of the revs too...

There's actually about 18 tonnes of 10mm shingle, if you really wanna know !

Just raked it out actually, due to the deeper ruts. Gonna be a pig to keep level...

:(

The HID's and mirror housings are being delivered tomorrow, and the black bumper grill, hopefully later this week too. Just need the wheels and maybe a lower too now :)

Probably a bit late now, but locally, to me at least you can buy special driveway shingle, this is a mix of 20-10mm shingle. The benefit is that the different size pieces "sit" together a lot better and car etc don't sink in as much. Hindsight eh :keule:

If the sub base is prepared properly, then a 10mm bed of shingle is usually sufficient.

Apologies for going off topic :undwech:

Sub-base is fine thanks. I'm a Project manager (ex Civil Engineer), so building is my 'bag'. The fellas that put the single on though went a little crazy, and put down maybe 3 tonnes too much, hence the ruts.

I have a mixture of planings and Type 1 as sub-base. Planings are cheaper but bind better IMO.

Was gonna go for 20mm shingle, but I think 10mm looks better...

Ta...

No ! Drainage is a bit of a problem round here, so the shingle helps !

;)

I only asked because my front took 3 tons of 20mm and is nowhere nears huge as yours!
Where did you get your hids from in the End?

..oh and get rid of the A4 badge for that smoother look!:icon_thumright:

....Cant see any pics Turk!!!ha,maybe you could make them a bigger....just a little....;)

First post to say hello! Car is a 2003 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport 180bhp in Sprint Blue with half leather, TV/Sat Nav, solar sun roof (starting to appreciate it now), Bose sound system and lots of other bits....

Thinking of getting it remapped soon to give it more grunt low down. If you see me driving down the A34 or M40 give me a honk!
