For those of you who dont know what this is about have a quick look at this thread....

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=53400

As some will know i bought a dodgy Audi from Carcraft and was getting nowhere trying to sort it out. But thanks to a few of you on here and the fact that Watchdog kindly took my case on and everything is "hopefully" sorted now.

Its worth a watch i suppose Monday 7.30 BBC1

Cheers:beerchug:

Will definitely tune in with interest and well done for not being bullied into submission by them:applaus:.

I have read your thread with interest and dismay and hope the outcome is to your complete satisfaction.

Well fingers crossed for you that you get it sorted with them. Their reputation is not good at all. I now there have been lots of complaints about Carcraft before, Ignoring leaking suspension struts, leaks in braking / exhaust systems etc. Got offered a job by them (IT related) 2 years ago turned them down flat - kept asking me why didnt want to work for them !

Richard

Carcraft have made an offer already which i accepted, they didnt want me to speak to watchdog but i believe people have the right to know whats been going on the past 8 months.

Its not fair that a company of this size are allowed to make millions of pounds ripping people off in the way they have with me. Whats more annoying is my solicitor sent another letter of rejection 2 weeks ago, i had a letter back thursday last week they were still refusing to give me my money back and again saying that the AA report is contradictry and using the old "wear and tear" trick!

Its a different attitude they have now i can tell you :)

Great news Mat and good one to you for your persistence, for Watchdog and the helpful members of Audi-sport.net; those who gave you decent advice and encouragement.

Glad to hear you are happy with the outcome - got Watchdog on for hard drive recording and I'll definitely catch it. Hope you are getting rid, though keep the final outcome a secret for those who will watch it!

Well done Matt, really pleased things are sorted now. Love it when companies like them get named and shamed!!

thanks, if you do watch it just ignore my accent, i did try not to let the welsh in me come out but i was nervous lol!!

Well done mate, It took some time but you got there in the end.

nowt wrong with being welsh butty!

dunno what im looking foward to the most - 1-0 to the consumer or the tidy brunette with a smart set of chebs!

lol! the bird that interviewed me wasnt bard either

Shakespeare's a woman now?!

All joking aside, hope you get things sorted, I remember reading about your plight in your original thread. Will definitely be tuning in.

Already set on the Sky+!! It'll probably be on iPlayer as well if anyone misses it...

Cheers,

What a hero!! And it looks a nice car.

Cheers,

BTW i got a full refund of all payments made plus £1200 compensation so im happy with that :)

Well that was good. Shame about the car, it looked like a nice car. What car are you going to get now? Another AUDI.

Yea iv had a long think about it and i think im gunna get a s line 170. i configured 1 on the Audi website so il have a good chat with the missis first cous we got a baby on the way now so she might not let me, but i really want 1

They really are well dodgy. I would never buy from them!! That woman with the Mazda 6 says it all!! 3 cars, and 3 of them were crap!!!
Anyhow, well done on getting on the program and telling the UK what a pile of crap they were to deal with.

The thing is though u only get a few minutes to highlight your issues, i could have used the whole 30 minutes in my case alone really

If anyone missed this, it's available on BBC iPlayer. Click here for the programme link. The Carcraft story begins at around 1.40

Man its so weird watching yourself on telly haha

What are carcraft actually doing wrong that so many of their cars are dodgy though?
I mean, a Mazda 6 (for example) is normally a paragon of reliability.
For that woman to get a dodgy one of them is weird enough, never mind the two that followed!
Are they buying 'dogs', in general, or are they just buying and selling in such a quick turnaround manner that they are doing any checks?

BTW, I thought you did well.:applaus:
I just wish Watchdog went into more detail.
Like they mentioned your engine trouble, and the other bloke's A4 trouble.
But no specifics, which is disappointing.

Oh, didn't make Audi look too clever either, did it....
An A3 and an A4 in the same article...
Oh dear.:wtf:

Well as you said earlier in your post, the mazda should be ONE of the most reliable saloon cars on the road, and that was a dog.
God knows where they get their cars from??

I know HPI check a car's accident/theft/finance situation, but is there any way one can check a car's mechanical history?
If I am able to find a previous owner's details (sometimes find stuff in the glovebox), I don't think twice about phoning them.
By the same token, if someone were to call me about my A3, I would tell them about it's excessive oil consumption etc.
This sort of information should be freely available.
I mean, what's to stop Carcraft selling on the yellow A3 again????
Nothing, which is just ludicrous.

Allot of their cars come from auctions and they buy fleet cars. im convinced thats where mine came from an auction...

You would normally put a car in an auction for a quick sale and thats where most of the dogs are.

Your right about the details i was a bit dissapointed how they put it over because it wasnt how i wanted it. Its up to them what they do with the information though and they did say that their legal team must look at the footage before it goes live

So I take it the car's away?
For Carcraft to sell to some other poor sod.
Especially when it look so decent, which it does/did.

Yes its gone back now it was a lovely car TBH i was sad to see it go but i've come out of it better off and they would be fools to put it back in the showroom after it being on national tv, but you never know with them dodgy ********* :sadlike:

They'll play the law of averages.
A/ Not many people watch Watchdog, given that it's up against Corrie
B/ Not many people will remember, even if they did see it
C/ In the highly unlikely event anyone will recognise it, they'll just claim the faults have been fixed.
D/ They'll just claim you were making stuff up to get out of a financial hole.

If I knew anything about websites, I'd start one where people could warn others of nightmare cars.
www.avoidthisbucket.com, or something.

That is a good idea acctually

im gunna pop back in on the weekend just to see if it is there cous i am curious as to how much they will put it up for if they do

bet they ship it to a different carcraft...I'll check the one in Coventry
have you replaced it yet Mat?

At least it'll be easy to spot as you don't see very many yellow A3s about.
