Does anybody else have problems with the wipers scratching the windscreen very very easily?

Within a month of getting my car last year i had a fairly sizable scratch and now ive got a few more - this is a right pain. Perhaps i've just been unlucky.

Anyone had any success with getting light scratches out of the glass?

have the blades got something on them then or what?? I've never heard of this at all.

You may have to wait until all the old sweats wake up tomorrow. I'm sure someone will have an answer.

From new Audi paint has a reputation for being soft and easily damaged, after a few weeks/months it hardens off. Windscreens thats a new un on me. Road salt can be a problem the roads are leathered with it at the moment, they seemed to have been chucking it down every other day and most times it was frost free and on the few occasions we have had frosts the weather has been dry

The windscreen and windows in general on my MKV Gti were frighteningly easy to scratch, something to do with the blue tint applied at the factory apparently and dropped for regular green tint on later models....
No probs with the A3 so far...touch wood!

My screen has very fine scratches all over it from scraping frost with plastic scraper also wiper sctatches.I had a Focus ST before paint & glass seemed bombproof compared to superior Audi product !

Don't know about scratches, but they are very easily chipped.
My A3 windscreen was replaced twice (insurance).
My colleague's A3 windscreen needs replace, after only 6 weeks of ownership.

i know what your on about. my windscreen has 2 large very apparent scracthes on. its been caused by somthing getting under or on the wiper blade, so when ive turned the wipers on its marked the glass and scratched the glass in the same sweep as where the blade goes, looks a right mess and is HIGHLY annoying. Tryed polishing it out loads but it wont budge.

One of the jets has failed on my washer system. Has this happened to any of you before? Will they just replace it or what? As far as I know there should be 2 jets of water coming out of each jet wash thing so in total 4. Is that correct? The car is only 2 months old.

Cheers

3 on each side. I'm guessing as you didn't know that then you haven't actually looked at the jets to see if they're blocked yet?

3 jets on each side? don't think so - just the two

Thinkt eh windscreen scratches are just the luck of the draw - very annoying though - there are places who reckon they can get them out or i've heard that you can polish them out with jewellers rouge

older as in.... only just out of date? As in a very recent spec change? Mines an 08MY 07 plated car and has two on each side (and they are crap i must say - this prob causes scratches because the screen doesn't get thoroughly wet before the wipers swipe across, most dry)

Just checked. Mine has 3 on each side and now 2 of them in each have failed so I've only got 2 piddly lines of water coming out. Anybody else had this problem?

Try sticking a pin in them to check they're not blocked. If there's spray coming out of one of the holes then there is obviously water getting to the jets but just not out of those nozzles.
