HI ALL
SOMEONE ON THE FORUM HAS SAID THE NEW FACELIFT WILL BE BUILT ON WEEK 22 CAN ANYONE ELSE CONFIRM THIS PLEASE.
AS MY A3 IS DUE TO BE BUILT WEEK 23 SO I WOULD BE RATHER HAPPY IF I GOT THE FACELIFT.

PS SORRY FOR THE CAPS

You should call your dealership if you have one on order I think they may find out for you!

Also if you're apologising for the caps then you know people don't like them so why not write without them?

hi mate not sure if this helps but I was told by a friend at audi that any car ordered from May 1st onwards will be facelift

Mine was ordered 7th April and I have been told it will be a facelift and I have a delivery week of 23. However it is a company car and it would not supprise me to learn that the lease company specified it must be to protect the residual value.

Mine was ordered on the 30th of January and was supposed to be ready in April but last week got told it wasn't been built til 1st week in May with a delivery date of week 22 hmm could I be getting the facelift model!!!

If this is the case then Audi must be using the same optional extras such as the seat trim and alloys in the facelft otherwise it wouldn't be what I ordered!

NHOWROYD when you ordered yours in April were the options based on the existing model or did Audi give you some new options?

Mark

My car after the delay will be due in week 25 so I am interested in whether it ll be a face lift or not, pointless asking dealer till the official UK press release is announced as they will plain dismiss it as rumours.

Part of me want it to be the current model as it has a nicer front wing but the other part want it to be the new model due to residual value and the 'brand new model' feeling. I am not sure how the Black Optic kit would look on the new front end also

I do not believe any cars that are already ordered would be facelift the spec is certainly going to be different ....there maybe some that wouldnt even want the facelift so couldnt just asssume thats what you would get, also spoken to my Audi dealer they have no details given to them yet & no order book is open for the facelift version currently apart from the cab version.

Reading whatcar looks like will be a few changes including new sport seats & more choice of leather colours etc so details will have to get to the dealers first. I would think first deliveries wouldn't be till at least September if you take into account the holiday shutdown in August.

just spoken to my boy in audi sales, the costings did not arrive this morning for the facelift but he did confirm that they are expected by tomorrow or day after. He also confirmed that all cars factoried by week 22 and onwards WILL have SIGNIFICANT differences, what that constitutes they dont know exactly they suggest the front end and interior mods. When this pricing arrives it will also confirm if the S3 is to be included in the programme or not, incientally the SE model is to be dropped and not feature int he facelift.

hope this helps guys.

so this means that there must be a replacement for the SE???

What the hell am I going to get then as mine is supposed to be an SE. The dealer has told our fleet manager that mine will be a facelift but I get it wk23.

I am now even more confused than when I started......

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they increased the horsepower too.

Edit: nope - reading the German link shows the same specs for the S3.

lol yeah I edited my post at same time you replied. I had a quick read - 265PS is the same in any language! Ah well, nevermind.

theres also a good chance price will increase nevermind the horsepower, as for the chap who has ordered the SE fleet car youd be advised to speak to your contact tomorrow. Aparently if there is a price increase then audi sales do not yet know if they will have to charge customers like yourself who have ordered just on the cusp, but the car is to feature the new mods, as a rule of thumb id of thought - any mods = money !! very unfair if you have already agreed a price, but then again u mite be lucky and get facelift for old prices !!

Looks like I'm going to miss out on the facelift by a few weeks as mine was ordered week 4, build week is 18 delivery week 22/23 which is a shame as I quite like the facelift model! Still 18 weeks waiting time for a new car is b*oody terrible!!!

Will ring the leasing company at the end of next week and get them to check with Audi whether a) the car has been built and also b) whether it is the facelift model!

you maybe okay to be honest mate, my friend in audi didnt specify whether the facelift determinant was a week 22 delivery and onwards or a week 22 build and onwards ?

Fingers crossed I get the facelift! Maybe thats why its taken so long to get as the date has been pushed back twice already!

Just looked at that German Audi site, the pictures on there are they of the facelifted model as I can't really tell? If so looks like its available to configure as of today! Noticed that there is no sport or SE just Attraction and Ambition and no 1.8TFSI or 2.0TFSI on the sportback or 3dr!

S.3THRIZZLE let me know if you guy at Audi finds out any info, cheers!

Does anyone have any idea as to whether this facelift is applying to the S3 yet? Im going into the dealer tomorrow so i was planning on asking if mine will be a facelift but im only going to do that if they are facelifting it.

A 3dr S3 on the audi.de site, with no extras, is £29,400!

I'd say as the facelift A3, A3 SB, S3 and S3 SB all apear on the de configurator then it's 100% that's what's going to happen.

Also noticed that on the pics on the de site the pics for the A3 and sportback don't have DRL leds whereas the S3 does, may be an option on the others but my germans not good enough lol!

Thanks for the response guys. My german is ok, not great but i can make out bits. Ill have a little read and see if i can make head nor tail of it.

Under Scheinwerfer (headlights) on the Außen tab is:
Halogenscheinwerfer in Freiformtechnik mit Klarglasabdeckung
which means:
Halogen headlights in "freeformtechnology" clear glass covering (?????)
and there is Xenon plus which is obvious. But selecting the xenon plus option does not add LED DRLs to the picture at the top.

Further down under further equipment is Leuchtweitenregulierung which is headlamp levelling.

I can't find anything else yet on the LEDs.

EDIT: Finished looking. I'm starting to think LED DRLs are only available on the S3 and A3 Cab! or maybe the configurator doesn't show it when you just add xenons to an a3

Just downloaded the german pricelist the 1.8 T Fsi is now offered with the new 7 speed dsg and quattro!

3 Specs as well, Attraction, Ambition and Ambiente not sure which is which.

in regards to there being LED`s on the lower engine ranges, I do remember being told about 6months ago that Audi policy on the leds was to include them on all cars specd at S-line prices and onwards and from reasonable engine levels, the entry levels wouldnt feature them, but then Audi do tend to take the biscuit !!!!! The RS4 alloy being a prime example. (design an alloy and drive it out never mind wear it out )

The pictures on the various press releases show a 1.8 TFSI, not S line, and with the LEDs, so I think they will apply accross the range, and not specifically to top models.

Also, I have read that initially, the new common rail 170 bhp diesel engine would not be available.

On Audi.de, it is not possible to configure one. The 2.0 TFSI is not available either.

Personally I think Audi have gone about this the wrong way, theres quite a few of us not knowing what were going to get over the next few weeks!

Surely the norm would be you get what you order, so now that the .de site has updated then in Germany you can only order the facelift, but if I was ordering today in England I would expect to get the current model.

People have said that Audi have said that the spec can change but this is'nt just one minor little change, plus the fact the options have changed looking at the .de site theres more choice of wheels now which if i had that choice now I would of picked a different alloy!

Also which one of those 3 models is the equivilant to a Sport and is it specced the same as sport, needs some guys with a good understanding of German!

Mine was ordered 24th march (wk13) and I got given a due date of 9th June (wk24) on 10th april, our fleet woman can't be bothered to check with the lease company and when i phoned audi myself they couldn't say either way, a lot depends on how much the lease company knew about the forthcoming changes

My opinion is you should receive what you ordered but others seem to think audi are highly likely to do what they want!

Have given up worrying about it for now so will see what arrives in June

With regard the .de site i think models differ across europe so not always going to be in line with what we can expect and with regard price with the euro the way it is i'm sure the rotr price is going to rise and just converting the german prices won't give you our uk price!!

No you're right there. But I think it was rather interesting. And don't forget you buy Audis in Euros, meaning if the euro continues to be higher against the pound then our UK prices will rise. The above price may give us an indication of what that may be.

Also VAT on cars in Germany is 19% now.

I really really like the S3 but i would struggle to part with £30K of my own money for a brand new one when I've always wanted a 911!!

Euro is surely going to massively affect car prices, I work in a totally unrelated industry but most of our product comes from Europe and we have had 24% price increase in 6 months purely currency fluctuation related, we are desperate for the first time in a long time to buy from within the UK!

Right then...... The gospel according to the Audi launch pack.

A3 & S3 Facelift models are being produced from Wk22 '08

A3 Sportback is being produced from Wk25 '08

If you have already ordered an SE and it is being built after this time it WILL be the new facelift version however it will be the '08 spec SE not the '09 spec SE. Ther are changing the range and the models start with the base model then SE then Sport then S-Line there is a premium between these models of aprox £500 to £1400.

rubbish - if you order a car and then some changes happen to spec you will get these free of charge - a contract to buy is legally binding and the dealer cannot come back and ask you for more money just because 'the factory has decided to change spec' - thats their problem not yours.

This happened to me in 04 ordered on 18th April and my car was built first week of 05MY meaning i got one or two additions such as auto wipers (which i weren't part of the spec when i ordered) i didn't pay any extra.
