PIAA/Silvervision bulb change with lots of pics

Ive just spoken to the lad , he says they don't make the bulb we want , he's had a look for differenet make's of bulbs , but still nothing ATM!

He did say if we email PIAA usa asking for the bulbs we want then we stand a good chance of them making them for us ( if enough of us do it )

Here's the web site.

http://www.piaa.com/

Give it a whirl!

I'm going to give it a bash - think I'll say that a large number of users on a respected Audi forum in the UK are looking for a replacement DRL bulb just like the H227, but without the blue tint.

See if I get a reply.....

Good price that too - nice find mate.

I'm an ebayaholic at the moment. Watching the RNS-Es (no doubt along with others from this forum) and I have bought Sky HD ready for the 40" tv I mentioned the other day. Can't wait! :yahoo:

I got my bulbs from him , but i don't like the blue tint when there off, they look the part when there on though!

The blue tint (which looks good with a silver car) doesn't bother me, after all there's an orange bulb quite close by!!

I thought you'd ordered one?

I thought you'd ordered one?

Spoke to Gareth from Hazzy Dayz to ask him a question and he's now sourced one for me and will be calling sunday to arrange fitting. I'm just wondering if I can get one cheaper from ebay before hand. How much do they normally go for? I notice one from Lithuania starts at £650 but then Ultimate Velocity are offering £599 fitted! That's a new one!

EDIT: Not fitted sorry. Apparently you can fit it yourself! Hmmm

Not LIKE the H227, but the actual H227. It's the bulb type, like H7 etc.

Gents - got some good news for you

I emailed PIAA in the UK and got a reply.....

Thank you for your enquiry;

We are planning on bringing this very bulb it is from the Chrome Mirror White range.

When the bulbs are in which will be the middle of next month there will be a feature on the web site www.piaa.co.uk so keep an eye on the news section.

Great news!!!!

The chrome mirror white bulbs look pretty damn good to me so will look great as a DRL replacement - no more blue tint .

Here's some fitments already available in the Chome Mirror White range:

clicky

I will definitely sort out a group buy on these when they become available, so to start things off, add your names to the list below and then we can perhaps go to Phantoms contact (if that is OK with you mate) to get a nice discount on the group buy.

I think one day, we should all have an S3 meet. ;) Wow photoopp!

P.S. Kontra. I picked up an 8gb N95 today on a whim!!

Any good softwarez you can recommend???

Also im looking to put a navi on there, i have route 66 which worked a treat, can you reommend any others?

Cheers big ears!

I think we should sort a meet out for the Yorkshire boys in summer for sure! (we could even invite them strange ones from o'er t'hill?!)

Check out my thread here for some good apps. GarminXT seems very good for navi, all the sat nav's work with the internal GPS except TomTom. Have a look on the forum or ask on there as theres shed loads of good advice and tests. :zen:

Ok I am about as good at car maintenance as a one legged man in a **** kicking competition....How easy is it to do yourself, or as I always use a hammer to fix anything should I get someone to do it??

The DRL and side lights are easy as they are both in the same unit.

The sides are just a push fit so a gentle pull on the holder (or wires if you can't get your hands in) will do the job.

The DRLs are just a twist out holder so whole job should take about 10 mins.

Any word on the pricing from PIAA?

I'm interested, but would rather know how much is it first. I'm in southeast **** now, things are rather cheap here.

Not on the new DRL bulbs no - they are not due in to PIAA in the UK until middle of next month. The W5W wedges are already available at £13.79 a pair - take a look at priracing.com.

I would imagine the price for the new Chrome Mirror DRLs would be on a similar sort of scale as the existing Xtreme white versions i.e. around £13-£15.

The more people that express an interest though, the more likely we are to get a decent discount. Phantom has a contact at pri racing, so hopefully the discount will be pretty decent.

I understand that changing the DRLs takes out the yellow tinge, what does changing the sidelights acheive?

Many thanks in advance

The same. When you have Xenons or good white halogens then the standard sides look more yellow and look a bit pants.
