NOW I NOW WANT ONE!


320+ BHP with a small chip, turbo back exhurst and pump upgraded now we are talking.

Been on the phone to my finance company, Audi dealer, Insurance etc etc just to work out how much you guys have cost me!

I love my A3 but I am bricking it about the resell value if the £25 CC comes into play as I am based in London!

So I would prefeer to get rid of it before the cut off date instead of after!

The 2.0T (S Spec) engine just makes so much sence, better MPG, More performance, lower daily Congestion Charge, Lower Road TAX etc.


The only problem I now have is the sodding TT-S!

I picked the A3 over a TT 3.2 as I think they are too look at me, too much of a obvious choice, too comman and not as pratical.

But the TT-S is calling me, manly due to the magnetic suspension I have heard so many good things about. The only thing that ticks me off about my A3 is the crappy ride, bang, bang, bang all day long! In addition I think I have used the rear seats in my A3 about 6 times in the whole 18 months of ownership!

You S3 owners owe me big time, so you need to help me out! S3 or TT-S?

When the TT-S was first announced I nearly cancelled my S3 order because in principle it was exactly what I had wanted from the TT in the first place, ie the 4 pot turbo with quattro and magnetic ride was a bonus. But I don't like the front end really. And it would have been an extra 5k for the same specs as my S3. I just wasn't willing to pay SO much extra for it.

Yeah you actually should do this. I'd be very interested to see how many TT owners would recommend the S3. It could be an indication of model snobbery if they all say the TT-S.

The TT with 18 inch runflat tires has a ****** ride! And, when you turn on the magnetic ride, it turns into a even Shittier ride!

My dad has one (2.0t FWD) and with only 4000 kms it is really noisy and bouncy, A LOT MORE than my S3 running on 19inch wheels!

This should concern you if you are interested in the ride quality.

On the other hand, the car is gourgeous and people stare at it wherever you go!

TT is still a girls' car, even in S form. And damn expensive. A decent one for over £37K? Madness!

I should think the TT-S goes like sh-t but also costs a lot so I would go with the S3 and suggest black/white stripes or white/black stripes just dont get the best colour sprint blue as its common enough as it is.

The TT-s will only be slightly faster than the S3 due to waight , and Audi's big up the TT , sh*t on the S3 brigade, same engaine ( not tweaked ) same internals!

I'd go for a tt-s instead of an S3 if given a choice (and funds)now. Alas, the timing is not right, and I had to make a decision last year.

Pros for the tts might include the lower weight ,not that it really matters, we are driving audis after all.
Then, there is the choice to opt for mag-ride.

To me, the main motivator would be the better interior and an overall nicer car (imho).

A friend even pointed out to me that the tt has a bigger boot space? Rear passenger space is not a problem to me, as I hardly fetch passengers.

And lastly, since the americans are getting it as well, dare I say there will be more mod parts, reviews, techguides and support? Browsing US based forums dont really help when you have questions specific to the S3, and I cant understand german forums.

That said, I like the S3 for being a hatchback, suits my image more than a coupe, especially one like the tt. I do not regret getting it.

I'm by no means comparing the S3 to those mentioned above, but I passionately dislike passengers. The weight a lot, never know how to treat the car right, cost more fuel, sags the rear of the car so you sometimes bottom out, they talk, sometimes eat and drink....this can go on and on.

Then again, I dont have kids, nor do I need to fetch my in-laws.

Agreed. I think if all us ibis owners work together we can say loads of bad things about how white is the worse choice we ever made and that might stop people buying white? I heartily recommended now to anyone that asks, to NOT get white.

Every time i see an TT im breaking my neck to get looking to see of the chick driving it is fit or not lol (apologises for the stereotyped TT driver).

Having said this i wouldnt say no to a TT-S if someone were to hand me the keys!!

The Chelsea tractors tax also applies to a A3 3.2!!!

All cars over 225 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre have to pay £25 to enter London. But the major one is that you no longer get a discount if you live in the zone if you fall into this bracket. So thats £25 per day 5 days a week if you drive your cars!

Well I've just sold my S3, pxed for a TT and have a TTs on order so I figure i should be a good judge.

The TT has far exceeded my expectations in every area, even the 2.0T FWD would not be left far behind the 'Super S3'. Its lighter and feels very agile, it has a better exhaust note and in Black with 19" RS4 looks really sporty in comparison to the S3.

I never fail to glance back when parked up where as the S3 could become anonymous amongst all the other A3 S-lines around. I'm not knocking the S3 as I still think its a brilliant, fast and very practical car but the looks could have been more ambitious. I owned the S3 12 months and got very few comments about it, I had the TT 3 nights and have had neighbours come around just to take a look ?!?

As for a girls or hairdressers car well that an old stereo type now aimed at the generation 1, drive a Gen 2 and then pass judgement.

The TT-s will sell well despite it's £33K price tag as it will have the exclusivity the S3 enjoyed 12 months ago. I
f you need 4 proper seats get the S3 if you only need occasional seats and require a bit of a looker go for the TT-S.

I don't know , maybe you see lots of women driving them, my sister , my ex wife......it maybe because they look like a VW Beetle thats been sat on , another car noted for females liking it?
