Hmm thats looks like an interesting hybrid of a B5 also liking the fact in the top pic it looks RWD.... Now that is high on my wish list of B5 mods :o.k:

Yes, that front end is rough.

you'd think after all that work cosworth engineering would atleast put the tail pipes on straight.

I must say, i do like the new RS4 in white.

There's an RS4 avant near me with black wheels and it looks the nuts. :o.k:

Why spends so much and let it all down with a nasty grill and wonky exhaust. Bet it goes well though.

The front grill reminded me of a photoshops preview I saw a while ago on what the new B6's front might look like (before it was launched). The only difference being I reckon the photoshopped version looked better.

I wonder what performance figures she gives.

I guess it wasn't meant to look pretty - the car must have been dismantled after they'd run their tests.

Just purely for R&D.

These are the DVLA details held for that car are:

The details for S4 CTL are:

Date of Liability: 01:03:2001
Date of First registration: 23:03:2000
Year of Manufacture: 1998
Cylinder Capacity (cc): 2,671cc
CO2 Emissions: Not Available
Fuel Type: Petrol
Export Marker: Not Aplicable
Vehicle Status: Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour: White

So, it was on the road for just a year. Didn't sell till 2 years after manufacture either.

It was probably registered way before the conversion. Bear in mind, a new car is usually supplied with a year's road tax.

Though, if the car was tested in a private facility, and dismantled shortly after, it wouldn't have needed to have the new engine details ammended.

I seem to remember seeing those pictures or similar in Auto Express years ago with a strapline along the lines of "S4 to get V8 power to beat M3"...

...maybe

looks like they needed the nose job to get the engine to fit?

pretty ugly, but i bet it can shift!
