Lighter anyone....

I was just clearing out some cupboards and found a swivel away lighter for a B7 A4. And since I sold my car ages ago its not of much use to me. It looks much better than having the lighter on show all the time. It is a plug and play part, and it swivels around to reveal the lighter when you depress it. Like the A3 has or the B6 A4's.

My first B6 S4 had this swivel lighter, my subsequent B6 A4 1.9 TDi didn't and neither did my next B6 S4, but my B7 RS4 does - figure out the logic there, I can't!

do you still have the swivel lighter.? if not does anyone know where i can get one from? i had one in my 1.9tdi but havent got one in my 1.8t, how strange

I took a B6 A4 for a test drive a few years back (and bought it, incidentally), and it was fitted with the "swivelling" lighter. The sales droid warned me that a few people had "pushed in" the lighter and then "swivelled" it closed, resulting in the lighter getting stuck (when it tries to pop out) and setting fire to the centre console.

That's probably the reason for it being "de-swivelled" on later models.
