just wanted to know if anyone hear is runing a 2.7 bi with dump valves i was warned againstit it but just wanting to know if anyone is

The s4 is way to classy to have atmospheric dump valves, plus it can screw with the ecu.

the s4 runs on metered mass so no like Markey says it will mess up the fueling.

Seriously though, as Dummi has said, the S4 uses metered air. In other words the ECU reads how much air is coming into the system via the MAF and expects it to stay in there!

If you fit dump valves, the ECU still thinks the metered air is in the system, so when you put your foot down, you'll be running rich. It'll only run rich very briefly, but over time this could potentially cause problems.

I've seen some american guys have them fitted, and some companies sell them specifically for the S4 (turbosmart I think), but I personally wouldn't bother.

been there done that with twin piston type and soon removed them , drives like **** cuts out at high speed and ......... just dont do it or if you really want to pm me !!

Just email Vagparts and tell them it's the 710N valves you want. Their website is a bag of *****, I only ever email them these days. Saves putting one thing in their search feature, then having to scroll down pages of totally unrelated stuff only to find that their search hasn't even found what you're looking for.

They know their stuff there and know that most people running the 2.7T will want these ones.

Excellent, cheers for that :)

And scrolling through unrelated crap is EXACTLY what I was doing this morning lol

Right, got my 710N's here.

Are they dead easy to fit?

Any tools or precautions I should know about? :)

You still got your Astra Dan???

your 710Ns should be a piece of p%#s to fit, just make sure you put the new ones the same way round, heard of people getting this wrong and doesn't really work surprisingly!

On this subject anyone tried the forge splitter valves on an S4 out of interest?

A pair of these?

Made specifically for 1.8ts and listed for S4s too, supposed to get rid of nasty codes and bad running, run like standard non atmos valves under regular driving , but you get the audible whoosh that some people want under heavy load.
