Rear washer jet > stopped working > HELP!

Rear washer jet packed up about 3 days ago -

- pipe has not detached at the wiper motor and no leakage at joint
- both pipes (for front and rear) still connected to pump at resevoir
- with pipe detached from wiper motor and pressing stalk to pump water, slight air bubbles form out of the end of the pipe, but no fluid
- when you blow (hard!) from the wiper motor end, you can hear a very slight noise or air at the washer resevoir (but no bubbles coming up in to the washer fluid, in the resevoir)
- have checked below the central locking unit/sub/alarm siren, in the rear passenger-side quarter, and there doesn't appear to be any fluid laying around
- no wet patches appearing in the interior ceiling of the car and no evidence of water anywhere/damp patches

so........

am I right in thinking the pipe from the resevoir to the wiper motor is only unbroken other than a join in the rear passenger-side quarter

and

what is the exact path from the front to the rear, of the pipe???

and in light of all the above, ANY ideas???

Have a poke about in the front passenger footwell as I think there's a join behind the side kick panel in the footwell. The carpet will soak up large quantities of water before it becomes obviously wet.

same goes for the sub area I guess...just run the pump for some time and see if water leaks in the rear quarter...

I took a while to notice mine. then i decided to take the bits out near the sub and check...it was actually there

in the S3 there is a join behind the air filter box in a s shaped conduit. You have to remove the air box , maff and top strut brace to get to it. Mine showed up as a puddle under the front left wheel.

Mine showed as a puddle under left wheel, the above works. Mine also blew underneath the sub when i reconnected it. Then i found out the copper pipe they use to port the water through the mechanism by the motor had sheered off on the wiper arm side. This made it p*ss the washer fulid back into the wiper mechanism and fecked the motor. So i'm looking for a whole replacement, not cheap and most of the ones at the scrappy are fecked in the same way. So be careful if you aint used it for a bit, it could have seezed.

Fixed! it was the joint behind the air filter, within the piece of conduit

Mine just did this again (for the fourth time)! I'm getting quite good at removing air filter etc. etc.

MIne is leaking behind the bose sub! It looks a right pain in the arris to strip it all out and hook it back up again!

****** VAG cars, my mk4 did it under the headlining at the back a couple of months back!

It is a pain in the harris, you have to flip the seats forward and take that side boot panel off, to get the sub out to then get at the pointless join.

it's pretty easy, rear LH seats out, boot carpet out, rear boot plastic out, then you can see the fixings for the side panel. remove all that then few screws for sub, takes about 20 mins max

Easy, but why have a join there in the first place, i think i remember it being taped up along side wires!

I had to reconnect the joint behind the air box today. However, having reconnected the pipes the washer still isn't working. Surely two joints wouldn't have gone at the same time would they?

Where should I be looking next?

You must have a blockage and the pressure is forcing them apart? Mine wer both gone as metioned above.
