Looks " FIT " Lee , it's a good job ive got some on order then init? :)

The spacers will have to wait till next month though!:(

I gives the car a nice aggro look , not over the top or in your Chevy chase...lovely.

Thanks

leon

Cheers Leon:rock:

The H&R's are perfect for the S3, the comments I have had in just one week are all good.

The car sits reallt well now, and looks the business.

Makes the car IMHO.

Lee...I know this has probably been asked in a million threads but by how much have the H&R's lowered the car?
And is it actually a better ride now than with standard springs?

Paul.

Nice one Lee. Looks the biz.

Thankyou for close up pic of spacer/hub/wheel. :applaus:

Might be worth posting up as well for others to see fit or aid the questions i was asking.

Cheers Jas

Looks nice! Where can I purchase the H&R springs?? Thanks!

Hi

As far as I know, around 15-20mm, and as the S3 is fairly low as standard that is about perfect.

Awesome GTI who fitted the springs stated that the S3 sit's really well on the H&R's was enough for me.

Hope that helps:icon_thumright:

No probs Jas

Yes, i'll do that!

And in answer to your question on the email, I have not experienced any tram-lining with the spacers fitted

Cheers.

Hi Mate

I got mine from Awesome GTI in Manchester, they fitted them too for a very reasonable price and good service!

Thats great Lee, cheers for sharing all the info! Appreciated. If those H&R's lowered your S3 by 15-20 mm they should be bang on for what i'm looking for on my s-line.

Paul.

Sitting just right Lee well done. Looks the business

Looks really well, putting my standard wheels back on today

How comes?? Your car looks nice esp in white with those alloys.

Because RS4 replicas are made of cheese and I hate them

Going to go for an 18" wide split rim of some description and put it on it's ****.

How come you guys keep using H&R springs on standard shocks? Wont it cut the life of the shocks short at all?

Does look spot on though, not to low, really nice stance

lol ok i see...

Post up some pics when you get them any way....

May as well get some wear out of the STD shock's and when they go upgrade the shocks!

H&R/Ebiach springs are made to go with the STD shocks, saying that, they will knacker the shocks faster than using OEM springs.

18" wide! Should get plenty of traction with those then!
:tumble:

Seriously though, that should look great, I've always liked split rims on pretty much any German car.

Yeah....just hard to find something in the right offset...I may go for a 9" wide with not ideal offset and have a bit of poke with a 215 tyre.

Searching ebay.de daily for something :)

Phantom, thats what I thought cheers.
Did Awesome GTI include a 4 wheel alignment in their fitting price?

You guys got me thinking....My 18" BBS RS on my 8P.....this one is 9.5" wide though.

S3IZZO is your rim choice going down the pan? You say the other BBS calito (or whatever they're called) are nicer than my TSWs, and now you wanna take off your rubbish RS4 reps for these???? Have you gone MAD?!!! :moa:

I'm glad we've all got different opinions, but I must be a alien :keule: Either you or I need some :sos:

No offence mate but TSW wheels aren't great wheels in my opinion, anyone who knows anything about wheels knows BBS RS's are proper wheels, they are 3 peice split rims not 1pc cheap cast alloy copied designs. (Like the replica RS4's previously on my car...monkey metal and bad quality).

They suit older cars than the 8P, they aren't going on it...just seeing what they'd look like.

I don't particularly dislike the design of your wheels, it's a good looking wheel but the quality of TSW ain't up there at all.

I'm after something with forged or billet alloy centres as it makes them stronger and lighter....you pays your money you makes your choice, each to their own...I'm really glad you like your wheels, that's what makes everyone different. :)

I know what you're saying. But sometimes you have to comprimise between looks/build quality. Otherwise I would have got BBS CHs like everyother vag person in the world! :puke2: LOL!!! :p

I had Fox's on my old clio 172 here......

DSC01373.jpg

I think you'll agree S3IZZO that clio looks perfect on those wheels as the 18s fill the arches superbly, I opened many peoples eyes to the 172 in Bristol when I had it in 2004 believe me. So as you can see "Fox" make probably some of the crapest alloys around but if you get the right wheel on the right car, you can't go wrong. So sometimes you have to subsititute "build quality" for the right look. People may put aftermarket alloys on their car for different reasons (Myself doing it to purely complete the look of the car), but I can assure you, my "******" TSW's will turn more heads than those BBS wheels, based purely on looks! :superman:

Just my opinion....

Sorry I know this is off topic but iv seen the whole 'tram lining' thing mentioned on some other posts... could someone explain exactly what this is? I'm pretty sure my car does it but wanna be sure im describing it as the correct thing :)

Thanks.
Mark.

I think it's a fine line between looks and handling , IMHO you don't buy a sporty/quick car and ruin whatever handling it has by dropping it to the weeds, or putting some crazy over sized wheels on it.

With regard to the OP the lowering on the H&R 's will improve the handling , i'm just hoping that the spacers won't have a negative affect on the handling, but thats the trade off for looks!

If it was all show no go i wanted i'd save myself 1000's and buy a 60's E type Jag and PIMP IT! Lol:laugh:

I tend to disagree

But anyway....horses for courses mate, we've already established the fact we have different tastes in wheels

To be fair P, the clio was running coilovers and even on the 18s the handling was amazing. So I suppose its getting a balance between the 2. My car hasn't been bought for out and out "speed" but I know when the time comes and I need to shift or "educate" someone it'll handle how I need it to.

Hence why people on here don't go all out and buy an Evo. Cuz you just get handling and speed and nothing else. Something like the S3 is all round, get me?
