Hi, I took my S3 in for a 12 month service at Stratford Audi last Saturday (I don't have it on variable servicing as I don't do the mileage.) I made it obvious when I booked it in that I was looking for top notch service and that my pride and joy needed to be looked after with utmost care.
Straight after booking in my car was removed from the car park and placed in a service bay to avoid other car doors opening onto my pristine body work.
I had a couple of hours enjoying Stratford and then went back for the pick up.
The car was parked in a spare service bay with everything sorted out. It had not been cleaned as I had requested.
The staff were friendly and efficient and complimentary about the car.
I had been worried about having someone working on the car after several disasters with other car makes. No problems so well done Stratford Audi!!
This service was matched by Stratford VW who recently performed a service and cambelt change on my Mk IV GTI 1.8T for £200 less than my local VW garage in Solihull.

I also use Stratford Audi, and would also recommend them.

I have had a couple of problems with the car - a failed bluetooth unit and a noisy wheel bearing. There was a long lead time on the bluetooth unit from Audi, so they removed the unit from their brand new demonstrator and fitted it to mine so that I didn't have to wait.

There was no problem with them replacing the wheel bearing, and they made sure they had one in stock before they booked the car in.

On both occasions they picked the car up from SWMBOs workplace (in Coventry) and returned it. on time, fully cleaned inside and out. They also polished out a couple of scratches that we had picked up on the bonnet, and made no charge for this.

They were also much more helpful regarding roadtests when I was looking to purchase than the Coventry dealer (even though they are both Listers garages), and virtually matched internet prices.

Agree with your post, but why would we want Jeremy (Tory ****) Clarkson for PM.. Vicky B-H maybe!!

Its great to hear good reports on main dealers for a change, I find that most dealers that I deal with, offer a very poor service - And I deal with lots!

Because he would get rid of bus-lanes and caravans. Also he hasn't fallen for all this man-made global warming nonsense that politicians use as an excuse to tax the nuts off motorists.

As for Vicky B-H, I have other plans for her !!!

Geoff - did they replace it with no questions at all?

Well, I rang the service guy and described the noise to him and explained that it only occurred on right hand bends. He said that it does sound like a wheel bearing and booked it in for the following week for them to have a look. They said they would make sure they had one it stock.

They collected the car, and we heard nothing from them until they returnd the car in the afternoon. The paperwork said "replaced OS front wheel bearing". We even queried it because we thought it would be the NS as the noise only occured on right hand bends and the sound appeared to be coming from the NS. They confirmed that it was the OS that they changed, and that must have been the faulty one, because the noise has gone.

that's pretty good service - the dealers I've used so far seem to want the first visit to prove there is an issue then a second visit to fit a new bearing, so top result for Stratford Audi :)

Just bought my A4 from Stratford and thought the service was spot on. Both the salesman and business manager (finance) went out of there way to get be the best deal possible and actually made the whole experience a pleasure.

Highly recommended.:o.k:

Aaaaah, that must have been where I was going wrong.
I thought they would know that's how I wanted to be treated.
Turns out I had to actually say it.
My mistake.

Just goes to show that we are either happy with second rate service or we just except that's all we are going to get.

Fair play to them for doing a good job but when your paying top dollar for the product intially. Paying top dollat to have it serviced. Surely they should automaticall offer top service...

Christ at £95 an hour plus Vat that Audi/BM/MB charge I expect the whole thing to with a happy ending!

As I heard a comedian once say;

We went to see this nice house, and I asked how much it was.
The estate said "$3million"
I said "How much?"
He said "Ah, but when you open the curtains in the morning, look at that view"
I said,

"Buddy, for $3million dollars I want to open my curtains and see breasts pressed against the window"

Another thumbs up for Stratford Audi from me.
Ordered my A5 from them in May as they went out of their way to get me the car I wanted and in the budget I had to work to.
I have had regular updates from the salesman (Alastair) and he returns calls and replies to emails in minutes not days or weeks!!!!!

My wife and I drove 40 miles there today for a day out (well that's what i told her:rolleyes:) and Ali drove us to their compound (few £million quids worth in there) so I could see the new motor and give it a once over to make sure that all the options were correct and of course they were.

Only three weeks to wait till the 1st when I can collect it........:)

I have had VAG cars for 10 years now and some of the service from main dealers has been very poor. How about the time my 1.8T went in for a service and they "forgot" to change the oil.

The nearest Audi dealer to where I live ruined an alloy from my 3 month old S3 just putting on a new tyre. This was after they reassured me that they could do a perfect job. I will not go back there again.
So I think it very naive to assume that you will get top notch service.

As I said originally, it is good when you feel confident with your garage. A couple of weeks ago Stratford Audi had a special event where there were lods of very nice fast cars to drive or be driven in. A good afternoon was had by all.

The whole point is your praising a dealer for doing what they are supposed to do. Just because you don't normally get what your paying for doesn't make it right!!!!

I get where your coming from MB i really do.

But I also recognise its fair to give credit where due, and thats what prt57 has done.

Maybe a top service should come by default, but doesnt always turn out that way (bitter experience) so its good to see the hard work of others is recognized ;)
