However this does seem to leave the upper pipe however looks OEM and id metal so cant colapse, or is there an upper im missing that goes with it?
or the Forge Samco etc alternative

Which replaces the whole lot?

im confused? :faint:

i have a 2001 s3,i fitted a silicon tip and it replaces the original rubber hose.i paid £60 for an autobahn 88 tip its is pretty much identical to a samco.and works spot on,check out my posts titled zena racing hose.

The metal pipes are for the A3 only. The S3 standard pipe is one piece.

The silicone tips are your only option. As for colapsing, they have strong wire running through them to prevent this.

If you get one in black, you hardly notice its a modified part, if that is a cooncern.

Forge TIP made a noticable difference to mates Leon, bargain mod

Can some-one tell me what the difference is between the Samco Silcone TIP and the Neuspeed Metal TIP?

My Car is going into Jabba for a week on the 25th for my K03S conversion ive got the Neuspeed one but personally the Silcone one looks better is there any difference??

Thanks!

Not much in it. The neuspeed and silicone tips are just different ways of opening up the bottom of the standard tiny inlet. The top halves are the same size.

I would just stick with your current neuspeed to save on cost............as long as this type fits over the k03s inlet which is about 1-2mm larger than the k03.

Thanks for clearing that up,

I'll just stick with the Neuspeed one for now then.

When i want a tarty engine bay i'll get a Silicone TIP

Forge Tip it is now to decide which short shift? I want it very short!

Cheers guys

Dave

Can someone tell me if the location(as in how they line up) of the turbo and airbox is the same on all S3's whatever the engine code it has(APY(210), BAM(210) and AMK(225) is it?), and that the only differences is the location of the N75 valve, diverter valve and the breather valve. Also, what is the difference between the TIP on an ESP equipped car and one without ESP?

On the A3, the K03s TIP is NOT restrictive, there isnt really any point to changing it except looks.

Holding up a K03 and K03s tip it is plainly obvious, huge difference. Holding up the Forge and the K03s there is very little difference in size/shape.

Personally, nothing has caused me more trouble, grazed knuckles and tears than making a silicone TIP grip properly on the turbo inlet.

What about the K04 on my S3? is it worth the money, I am prone to driving it like I'm drving away from a bank job :busted_cop:

Jojo, the distance relationship between the turbo and airbox is the same for all S3s TTs etc. As for the difference between esp and non esp, I can't say.

Good, because I'm about to attempt to fit a BAM Samco TIP onto my APY, even went to Audi to buy a new breather hose to relocate it, need to extend the little hose for the N75, as the wire isn't long enough on the standard one! Just need to make sure I have everything in check before I start taking things apart, or I'll have a dead S3 lol.
