They quoted me £170!! That seems an awful lot for something I could do myself for like £50.

I'd rather get audi to do it and stamp my book, but **** me! £170!

Anyone else had their first oil change for an S3?

Is it still alonside porsche?
No, think it's moved looking at google maps, never been there before though, always used Reading Audi before. I really hope Guildford are as good, Reading were very good to me.

Oh ok was gonna say i know the sales manager of porsche guildford so if it is still there you might of been able to get some discount.

Just had a few quotes for mine, from £180 up to £260, yours is a good quote, i would have to travel 70 miles for the cheaper quote, so i will end up paying £252 which is at the dealer I most trust and not sure it's worth driving 140 miles to save £30 -£40 after fuel.

not sure yet, but my mate who works at Audi has got me the mobil 1 longlife 2 oil.
so thats £75 off the bill

Guildford Audi is now 'owned' by what was Aston Green Slough, who I think also own Reading Audi as well?

Camberley Audi and Basingstoke Audi are both owned by Colbournes, the VW dealer in Guildford.

There is also AH Autos, also on Slyfield Industrial Estate, who are a VAG specialist if you want to avoid the dealer.

I suppose if you can find the oil cheap and supply that yourself?

I'am i reading this right , they let you take your OWN oil in?

Or you got the oil off him and your not gonna get it serviced at Audi?

If it's the first option i'll be doing that too , and a filter!:eyebrows:

My other half paid £170 for the first service on her Micra (a year old and had only done 3000 miles)
My previous A3 Quattro cost £240 for its first service so £170 sounds good considering (yes I know its all a rip off) but you do get main dealer stamp which might be useful regarding resale.

My first service on my S3 was £220 which was best of 3 quotes I got from local Audi dealerships, £170 sounds like a good price

Just booked mine in at 8k miles  told it would be £150ish

Try Audi Reading. £344!! They charge £80 odd for the oil on its own (inc VAT). NOTE: THIS IS A VARIABLE SERVICE (carried out at 11.5k although service interval was supposed to be 20k)

Carry out service: £202.12
Filter element : £8.52
Screw: £1.08
Filter: £9.38
Mobil SHC Oil: £71.93

Net cost: £293.03
VAT: £51.28

Total service: £344.31

If I hadn't been on the monthly payment fixed price maintenance schedule I would have never paid for it with hard earned cash. And they kicked off at me as they had no record that I was on FPM.

At least **** Turpin wore a mask.

Just paid Battersea Audi £350 for first variable service. Thats the cheapest quote I found.

Docklands £450
Wimbledon £380

They all gave me the option of moving onto fixed servicing, the fixed service would have cost me £200-250. The difference between them is that the fixed service uses standard life oil (and will need another service in 1 yr or 10k miles), where as the variable service uses long life oil (and could last for upto 2 yrs or 20k miles), plus i'm told that the varibale service includes a number of checks that the fixed service doesn't.

Are we all talking about the first varibale service or just the 1 yr / 10k mile oil change ? Seems we are comparing different things

I am on fixed servicing but I specified that I wanted the long life oil to keep the motor silky smooth. The garage (Stratford Audi) told me that they use the long life oil for either type of service.
