'New' B-class Merc

you've done it now, you've gone and mentioned a car brand other than audi.

think he's got his BMW now, maybe not the Alpina but certainly the A3's gone, does that give you an idea?

At least it's a German make!!

I had a look in to the Alpina forum the other evening and noticed a user name I recognised.

What everyone having for tea?

I fancy a nice pizza.
And a budweiser.

Bowfer once the Alpina comes, are you gonna still post on here? Or join a bm forum?

I sure hope he still posts here........ generally find his posts a lot more interesting than the "Audi are so much better than everything else" rubbish that seems to be the current trend :ninja:

The man who said Audi styling was boring posts an article about the Merc B-class *YAWN*. Incredible.

There's a line though isn't there...Between playing devils advocate and putting forward alternative, educated opinions and basically putting down anyone who airs an opinion different to your own in a bigoted manner.
I'm all for 'discussion', not 'arguing' for the sake of it.

How about I delete this thread and resurrect the one where 'someone' was asking about the B-class then?
That make you happy?

In reality though, isn't "playing devils advocate" just a dressed up term for "arguing for the sake of it" ?

I agree there is a line but I don't think Bowfer has crossed it and certainly don't think he deserves the constant criticism / childish responses he gets every time he posts these days.

Look at it a different way...... Every time someone makes a post complaining about their A3, David Robson is pretty much guaranteed to post saying how brilliant all his A3's have been and how much he loves his DSG....... don't really see how this is any differernt from Bowfer posting in an "I love my A3" thread that he doesn't...... yet David never gets a word of criticism. The only difference between the posters is one of them loves his A3 and one of them doesn't....... seem fair to you ??

Yes that does seem to be the situation, but then it is an A3 8P forum after all as opposed to a general car forum. I would hate it if any newcomers only saw negative comments on the A3 and it's reliability and how much some members dislike the DSG when there are those who have the opposite view. Both Bowfer and myself post as we see things. The fact that we're probably at opposite ends of the 'I love my A3 and I love my DSG' scales at least gives a balance. I always make the point with the DSG that some people like it and some don't and that you must try before you buy. Something Bowfer didn't do as a lot of the things he dislikes about it would be quite obvious in the first few miles in 'manual' mode. Basically he fell for the magazine hype.

By the way my name is Robinson and not Robson, just so there is no confusion.

You know what would be nice?
If *whomever* was asking about the B-class a couple of weeks ago came on here and said "thanks".
I can't be ***** going back and checking who it was.

It wasn't me... I was looking for a small diesel and initiated a thread about that and I think someone suggested the B class..

But maybe someone was interested in it, not sure...

Pedro

does it matter, lets all take a chill pill, its a thread, read if your interested, ignore if you aint, isnt it that simple?

I definitely remember someone specifically posting about the B-Class.
It was in the title.
MB replied, as his wife had/has one.

Sorry, it was me who asked before, and thanks for the link

I haven't been following the forum much lately.

Tyresmoke is a cool place without the BS :D

I look into the Tyresmoke A3 forum quite often. It's not as 'lively' as this one. Most threads are members asking other members for help and advice. Probably more what you would expect from a one Make/model forum.
