Well finally I decided who to go for on the remap front and the drive home confirmed I had made the right choice. Ive got a 210bhp S3, and went for a custom code remap. With the 30% discount it cost me just over £300.

The car has been totally transformed, I can drive it nice and slow without any ridiculous boost kicking in like other maps but then as soon as I put my foot down it pulls like a train all the way to 6.

If anyone is thinking about who to go for I would recommend custom code 110%

Thanks to Greg and Lee @ Total VAG in Leighton Buzzard (01525 384 455)

...another trip to the petrol station to pickup some V-Power :)

Dave i hate you for posting this..... ive put my plans to go to CC off for a while and your not helping!!!!!

Doooooooo it :)

Its the best 300 quid Ive ever spent on a car.

p.s. Virgin do a 15mth 0% credit card at present ;-)

yeah just got an Egg 0% job lol...... got a few things taking priority at the minute;o) but cheers anyway you ****

Get it done so worth the money!

I got a DV the 007P and it has the CC logo engraved in the top :) Looks very smart!

Can you get a custom code trial? I've driven the Revo and liked the pushed back in your seat feel of it.

Ian, they dont offer the trial as they say it doesnt always revert back to standard.... worth noting that custom code used to do revo remaps, but apparently revo wouldnt allow them to modify it

Thanks for the info, I shouldn't be tempting myself really, got other stuff to do before I start thinking about remaps lol

know where your coming from..... tempting..... i know that £300 is very cheap for that though.... £200 would push it for me i think but not likely as the full price is £400-450 lol..... its all a matter of importance

I've just had a cc remap and it feels very 'factory' but faster!

I had a revo trial on before which seemed faster probably because the boost peaked much earlier but the cc remap is definately better value which is what swung it for me. If they had both cost the same i would have had the revo.

Hmm i'm soo tempted, I have already got a map from elsewhere but its quite poor. Dyno shows power at flywheel to be 200 (is 180 stock) and 160 at the wheels, was expecting a bit more from the ko3s, although the car is 7 years (only done 30k mind) so would hope the turbo still good? Also the torque and hp drop off from 4800rpm rapidly. Not sure if it worth £300 to have another map done though :(

JBS, the people who started custom code, used to do revo. apparently custom code was started because they couldn't modify the revo maps.

Well sounds cheap! I have a CC and mine cost abit more than that, are you claiming the VAT back through work or something? Mine was like £375 + VAT, so you got a great deal!

You will be living with that smile on your face for a long time to come!

Enjoy

Get yourself to Awesome for an APR remap, the smoothest remap out there apparently.

Apparently? So you dont actually know? Lots of people who used CC and alternative remaps are all saying CC is really smooth, and then you post an 'apparently'

according to Reuben the owner of www.tuningwerkes.com yes.

Hello mate

Just read ur thread on remaps...

go see Jim/Dean/Andy at Awesome.....0161 776 0777

get the APR map - you will not be disappointed!

will it foobar my engine?

No way mate.... Its the smoothest map out there for the engine you have.
Takes power up 40-50bhp and the torque is amazing too - what the S3 and TTs need!

You also get a free 6 hour trial - incase you want a test session 1st lol

Give the lads a call - tell em I sent ya & they will look after you

Regards

Reuben

Sorry, my comment was a little uncalled for.

However, I still dont think YOU can say the APR is better if you hvent got actual experience of them both.

APR are good though, thats for sure, but I wouldnt say they are AS good as Custom Code. They are similarly smooth, like a faster stock map (I'm talking about the generic remaps here) but the CC remaps seem produce bigger numbers.

lol..... i love this forum, never a dull moment

From what i have looked ino in the past...the APR was supposed to be the only map that Audi would allow without affecting warranty on the new cars....... this came from my main dealer in Sheffield about 2 years ago:blackrs4:

JamPublic...

..There is an offer on at the moment on cc remaps, £312 inc vat, a bit of a bargin when compared to revo!

and only £248 for a non BDW 1.8T.... Seems too good to be true! Plus £96 for the Forge 007..

custom code has totally changed my s3! its is a much nicer map than the revo as it gives you power through out the rev range! the revo seems very punchy but the power comes and goes, i think the car is much nicer to drive with the cc map than the revo! its also better at top end speeds i think thats wer the cc map comes in to its own...
but every ones has there own choice, and there both very good maps....

I have just booked a CC map today, had a couple of questions so thought I would post it here rather than a new thread, firstly my wastegate seems to chatter a fair bit on heavy boost, seeing as CC offer to install a 007p I was wondering you guys think it would be worth doing? Also I know the S3 exhaust isnt very restrictive for anything to around 250bhp would the A3 1.8TQ exahust be restricting me much?

Cheers,
Klep
