My car goes in on monday to be looked at,due to the engine managment light being on,i couldnt believe it tho when i rang and spoke to them to arrange the date, that they told me i wasnt entitled to a courtesy car due to me being under 25:mad: ,I have the same warranty as any other customer has,This is not mentioned about the warranty either when purschasing the car,so it is being picked up and dropped off the same day, lucky im insured on my parents cars otherwise i would have nothing to get to work in on the monday, anyone else had this problem?

We can tell you are 'young' by the lazy way you type.

But I assume that it is up to each individual dealer how they insure their loan cars. When I was your age dealers did not have such things as loan cars so I'm afraid I have no personal experience.

Whenever I take my own A3 in for service I always cover the dealers loan car on my own insurance because I have a much lower 'excess' than their policy.

Interesting. I will be expecting a courtesy car when my car needs to go in for servicing as I will have to get to work.

Will the insurance cover be different depending if the car is out for a test drive or as courtesy car? As there was no problem with me test driving cars when I was looking to buy so I'm assuming there will be no problem having one as courtesy car. Dont need to worry about it for another 15k yet anyway.

Loan cars tend to be on a different insurance setup to demonstrators. Quite often with a demonstrator you have to have a salesman with you as a requiremnt of the insurance. But having said that, if I say I would like to try a particular car, they always let me drive it on my own. Perhaps because they know me quite well having been buying cars from them for 10 years! They just take a photocopy of my driving license and give me the keys. Perhaps I'll ask if I can try an R8 and see what reaction I get.

Perhaps worth a phone call just to check.

I'm 22 and I'm getting a courtesy car next week when my car goes in and I got given one for a week before my car arrived last year! (was 21 at the time!)

they seem to be talking out there **** then,it did confuse me abit to because when buying the car they had given me a weeks complementry insurance with audi,so how can they do that but not insure me on a courtesy car?

I have had loans cars as far as I can remember and I'm just a couple of months away from my 25th.

I have a similar experience, know them well. Friends of the family run the dealership and always been let out on my own with just a photocopy taken of my license

Still doesn't guarantee it'll be the same with the loan cars - like you say, could be different insurance cover for them...

i had the same problem as you mate, i brought my car and within 3 days the engine manegment light came on audi had it in total of 6 times trying to fix the problem and because im only 19 they said im not entitled to a courtesy car and nothing about this was mentioned by audi when i brought the car, luckily i have a van so i used that for over 5 weeks throught out christmas aswell, at the end of all the problems i was having i was given 3 tanks of petrol, and £135 cheque as compensation for all the trouble they caused me,

I've had loads of courtesy cars from the age of 21 to 24, A2's, A4's, A6's, etc, etc. Reading Audi rules.

I dont think David is, or has been a resident of said place.

Agreed.

I am 23 and have a car from my local audi garage no problem.

Originally there were going to give me a 2.0T A4 Avant, which was a Audi UK Car. I could not drive this unless I was over 25. However Teesside Audi gave me one of their own loan cars which was a 1.6 A3 :(. But this allowed me to have a car for the day!
