Hi guys what’s the average waiting time for a a4 avant black edition build ordered just before the new year

Last time I heard rotors where in low supply and they had orders backing up till June/July.

Depending on what engine your after though I think

Cars ordered with the rotors might be in for a wait then

Last I heard was a 4-5 month wait for a BE
Mine was certainly that. July order December delivery! My broker says that demand for the model is huge

They are not making it any easier either as they are doing huge discounts at the moment to shift cars before the changes, I got just over £7k off list price for my order, they do seem to be pushing them out and are struggling to keep up with demand

My discount worked out as just over 21% but the b9 is due for its next change q4 this year so that’s why I think they are “giving them away”

I think it will be Q2 2019 before UK sees the FL version of the B9.

My build time was 4 months, so based on what I’ve heard on this forum, the norm is 4-5 months.

Nice discount or did that include pcp contribution

They’ve been pushing the B9 from day 1. I don’t see any deals which are cheaper than they’ve always been doing. My current B9 I got May 16 and it costs me £151 per month including vat on a 3+23 lease 12k miles...

Seems unlikely to differ S4 to A4 as they are just spec changes and go down the same line. RS4 would differ.

Tbh... with RS4 just released I can’t imagine they’ll facelift 6 months later... my money is deliveries of FL on Sept 2019.

Couldn’t find any lease deals close to matching that, best was 1+23 for £214pm on a 2 year.

But then I decided to buy instead, only time will tell if I have made the right choice :/

I've a 1.4 BE Avant on order, with the optional v-spoke alloys instead of rotors. Ordered 6th Dec with dealer claiming March or April delivery, though I don't need till towards end of May so he would keep till then. Tracker shows order placed 27th Dec, though no movement beyond "Welcome" and no build week yet. Hopefully won't be an issue.

My original order placed in NOV is still at that exact same stage on the tracker as yours, (I only checked yesterday as it’s still assigned to me) I spoke to Audi customer services telling me a possible build week 17 but they couldn’t guarantee that as nothing had been allocated yet as the factory were seeing big delays.

That’s when I started looking for stock cars.

From reading other posts on here I thought the delays were caused by the rotors, that's why I ordered the y spokes. Though as time passes and with the tracker not updating I'm getting less confident. I'll have to contact dealer or Audi direct and see what they say.

Yeah I’d noticed they are running about £60 more than the cheapest ever, although the a4 has had 2 price increases since and the road tax/showroom taxes have increased too.

Tbh at £5200 which is the deal you found over 2 years, which will include road tax, I can’t see buying been any cheaper, you’d loose at least that on a 15k used car over 2 years...

Yeah I know it’s nowhere near cheaper, the prices I was given was for an SE, I revisited the prices for a basic S-Line and it was £280pcm for the lease.

I’m paying £300pcm on PCP and I managed to also get 3k options so the extra £20pcm was a no brainier, I only do 5/6k miles per year so by the time the term is up my guaranteed value will be well in tact and then some so if I plan on keeping it I’ll be quids in (at least that’s the plan haha) or I’ll have a very nice deposit for the next one ;) just depends on the deals in 3 years.

Only disadvantage i can see if it all works out is the road tax is now my bill to pay. Apart from that I’m happy to pay the little extra to call the car my own, planning on getting some after market stuff done that I wouldn’t have with a leased car.

It’s all a game... hopefully we win... or at least break even.... :icon thumright:

Totally agree, this will be my first ever new car, never owned a car for more than 4K before so it’s a hell of a step up for me haha.

My mate bought a Nissan Pulsar back in 2015 the car was £19k new and he managed to get discount stacked due to family working high up in Nissan and taking a stock car, amongst other things.

He eventually walked away with the car for £9k on PCP, a whopping 10k off list price, he laughed his **** off thinking he’d be totally quids in after his deal, the car is two in 4 weeks and it’s worth less than 7k.....

Imagine if he paid full price, Jesus!!!

I know it’s a Nissan but that story scared the crap outta me.

My first order was a plain SE with no options so deffo not down to just the rotors, I think the 1.4 TFSi engine is in high demand so it’s having a knock on effect for everyone’s orders.

I ordered on the 23rd October (1.4 BE Avant) and the cars at the port ready to be shipped to the uk. I was delayed by 1 week to have the v spokes instead of the rotars. I believe there’s a few who ordered at the same time also waiting for their cars to ship (see the tracking thread). Been told throughout by the dealer that there are no delays

I will add that I was told by my salesman that some dealerships get preferential treatment if they hit certain targets. I personally can’t see the factory prioritising dealers and building cars faster but it could have something to do with how many buildslots they get.

It’s deffo build slots, when I bought my SQ5 the difference in estimated delivery by the various dealers I went to varied from March to October 2015.

When I probed the March dealership they said they have slots already booked for stock cars, which they can alter the spec on to suit a customer order.. thus jumping the queue...

Ours may be on the same boat! Ordered October, now waiting for shipment for delivery in March

If you ordered in October I haven’t got a hope in hell in getting mine for March

Well dont forget that since I ordered mine, Ive had two issues. First was the delay in the 1,4 Engine, then when they found me an engine there was a shortage of he 19 inch Rotor wheels..... when did you order yours?

I've got an order date of 24th Nov for a saloon BE 2.0tfsi s tronic with rotors and I've got a build date of 19th Feb - currently on status 20

I just changed my order placed on 9th Jan 2018 from a 1.4sline to a 1.4 black edition yesterday, build date didn't change and is due for build week of 5th March. I think it does depend if the dealer has allocated build slots for particular models that saves you going to the back of the queue. Our last 2 new audis have been the same and arrived pretty quick because the dealer had a build slot available that the spec could still be changed so got what we wanted. Fingers crossed this one will be the same.

Yes dealers have allocated slots they can fill with customer orders. This happened to me as the process from my order going in to receiving the car took about a month and was confirmed by the order date on the tracker below being two to three weeks earlier than when I placed it.
"It's not very accurate that website. Log in and then go to https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/v1/orders

copy all the code into http://pro.jsonlint.com/ and look for the codes under the "translatedOptions" node. Compare them to the codes on the brochure."

When you do that you get your VIN number too and you can add it to the myaudi app

So I asked the dealer if there were any issues/delays with my order as the tracker was still on 'Welcome' and no build week allocated (ordered at start of December). He responded with 'the car orders are taking an unusually long time for the orders to confirm currently. In the next few weeks it will do'. Doesn't really tell me much , not sure if that means an expected delay or not. As mentioned previously I don't need till middle/end May so hopefully not a problem.
