Hi guys, this is my first post here so be kind!!! Haha.

I'm selling my BMW M4 Comp Pack as I've decided to get something a little more practical that I can put the dog in the boot etc and therefore been looking at getting an S3 Sportback.

I've been looking at one on Autotrader, it's been on the market for a while and am a bit reluctant to drive 2 hours if someone has already viewed this car and it's a lemon... The wheels aren't to my taste and would be swapped back to originals, along with a few other bits. Does anyone know anything about this car or have had dealings with the dealer before?

Cars a bit expensive by £2k yeah wheels are awful looking but it says it's got magnetic dampers so you could easily fit oem 19 " alloys, spec is mediocre but l think it may look better in the metal, in my opinion there's better/nicer S3's out there for £26k mate

Cool, thanks. I thought it was on the pricey side too, but I'm intrigued more than anything! The wheels are pretty bad aren't they! I've asked a few further questions so will see what they come back with. Thanks!

The biggest thing going for the car is it's mileage??? which seems unnaturally low for a 3 year old car mate let us know how you get on

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with you on the wheels, they really don't suit the car at all. I'm not surprised it's been on sale for a while, the price seems very high, low 20's would be a fairer price.

Exclusive paint or not, that car is not worth £26k.

I agree... My friend is a VW/Audi technician so we will take the diagnostics equipment up with us (if we view it) to double check the mileage reads true. I'll keep you posted!

Ok cool, I will bear that in mind and see if they are willing to budge on price or not.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Love the M4 comp pack awesome car mate but more of a weekend car

Welcome aboard mate!
The guys have covered it above, I think we're all agreed on the wheels :wtf:

I also think the wind deflectors make it all look a bit 'busy' too.

But these are things that can easily be changed, but only if a car is at the correct price initially.

Good luck! :salute:

If I didn't have a dog I wouldn't be selling it! :unamused: https://goo.gl/fZm81G

Thanks! Haha the wind deflectors would be removed straight away! It's got a fair bit of wear on the driver's seat bolster too, especially for a car that only has 15k on the clock... Or is this normal?! Let's see if they will budge on price at all, if not I'm not going to look at it!

There are threads on here regarding wear and tear on the seats, many younger than the car you're looking at. So it's not as unusual as you'd expect.

That's a nice car you have there!

If it helps, I paid £23,500 for my 14 plate at end Oct....

Rough spec is Tech pack inc b&o, super sport seats, pano roof, adaptive cruise, advanced park assist plus camera, keyless entry, interior light pack, led front and rear lights, Audi pre sense, lane assist, sportback, 5 door, 1 Owner, 30k miles, stronic, full history Audi approved used so one year warranty too

I admit I was lucky to find that much spec and whilst the exclusive paint looks ace, and the mileage is very low, the price isn’t so much.

Cracking car .... good luck and bid em firmly in the .....nut sack

Looks great! Mine is actually an individual colour too - Laguna Seca Blue with the carbon kit. Haven’t seen another in that colour other than on google! I would ditch the dog too but I think my wife would have something to say about it!

Thanks! I agree, think I’ve pretty much given up on that one now. Nice colour but not worth the money. I’ll keep an eye out for something else.

So what car would you be content with for a agreeable term say 30 months...lol
I genuinely think I would get bored of a Ferrari 458 after a year. The longest car I’ve ever had was my £400 run around. Nearly 2 years! Other than that the record is 11 months. Been driving 10 years and had around 25-30 cars

Welcome Smiddy. Does sound a bit steep, my car is not up for that much with better spec, and a year newer. Not an Exclusive, but as the others have said that money doesn’t stick to the car when selling on...

How about a fully loaded S3 saloon. 6 months old, with a £47k spec.

Check out the other thread on the RS3 index. http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/finance-and-wheels.357504/

Guy is going to get a £26k trade-in with Audi. Make him an offer above that, and you'll get a good spec car. Not the best wheels, and no SS seats, but at £47k new, it must be well specced.

That is shocking money for the year. Surely it isn't worth anything near that....closer to £20k?

What l dont get is the look of the car with just 15000 miles on,as it appears to have been modded up in the looks department and young yins/Vins drive everywhere given the time,One Lady Drivers dont do this to there cars...lol

Totally agree. OP - take your money elsewhere!

New car inbound!

So I went to look at the nogaro blue s3 today...

I took with me a paint depth gauge, diagnostics computer and a jack... the paint is completely original and in very good condition, I checked the mileage against the operating hours and cam deviation and that was all legit, no major faults stored either - even after a road test. Underneath looked clean, no corrosion and no new parts. Tyres are continental and have plenty of tread and the interior looks pretty much brand new. After spending an hour inspecting it all I can say is that yes the wheels are ***** along with the wind deflectors - these can easily be removed, but the rest of the car is straight and genuine.

I also did a spec check on the car using partslink24 and it had a few more options that weren’t advertised.

The options are:

Mag ride
B&o
Tech pack with mmi touch
Adaptive cruise control (with front radar)
Front and rear parking sensors
Black optic pack with black roof rails
Heated folding mirrors
Interior light pack (not sure if this is standard with b&o?)
Led headlights

It also Audi warranty left on it so will get the car straight to a specialist for a full inspection.

The only other option I would have quite liked is the super sport seats, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

I won’t disclose how much I paid, but I did get a deal on the car and they gave me a blinding px value on my m4 which made it more worthwhile. They are also sending it to Audi for a service. Yes I could have got a cheaper car and yes I could have potentially found one with more options, but I would have had taken a bigger hit on the m4 and had to get a cheaper s3 so this made sense to me. I’m very particular about my cars so if I had felt the car wasn’t quite right I wouldn’t have gone for it.

I’m happy with my choice and pleased to see the m4 go (for its depreciation) but not pleased as its an awesome car and don’t really want to get rid, bud needs must.

@wab172uk the reason for getting rid of the m4 was so that I can put the dog in the boot, therefore a hatchback was my only choice really. Thanks for the heads up though!

Thanks for everyone’s input so far, I really appreciate everything. I will post some pics when I pick it up next week but in the meantime if anyone has any great condition genuine alloys for sale please feel free to give me a shout!

For oem 19"s keep watching eBay for them especially the wing arm alloys

Cool will do, would you recommend the 19's over 18's?
Yeah 19"s come with 235/35 tyres and handles/looks better as you have magride the gap between the tyre edge and wheel arch is a little bigger than standard suspension cars so 19s will fill the arches more l have had 2 S3's one with standard suspension and 18's and one with magride and 19's

Thanks! They look pretty cool actually, is there a UK distributor for them?

I do not know if they have a UK distributor, drop them an email or phone. Yankee companies are really good at customer service. The neat thing about Hartmann wheels is they are made for the Audi radius wheel bolts and also Audi wheel centres. No screwing around with tapered wheel bolts that most aftermarket wheels require. That is something you should check on your car, as those are aftermarket wheels, I presume. The wheel bolt type is often overlooked by people who order aftermarket wheels, they use the existing Audi bolts and that is a no no.
I would definitely put 19's on as you have mag ride and they just the fit and look better than 18's
