Facelift UK RS3 Saloon/SB (400ps) Order Thread...

True just didn't expect the little changes to add up to that much. Pleasant surprise.

Can I just check that you have already opened a new tab on your browser and logged into the "yourAudi" website. If you have done this already then please try opening this link, which should open another tab, to try and obtain more details:

https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/v1/orders/

You will have to enter your order number after the last forward slash.

Hope this works for you :)

Hi yes followed the instructions and got the error. Order date was confirmed a few weeks ago now so thought it should appear. I'll follow up with Audi direct.

cheers.

So I went out in a FL today. There were no pops and crackles on downshift which is a shame although tbf the car still sounds awesome; the sales chap dropped me off home and you could hear the car for at least half a mile as he drove off!

I'll eat a bit of humble pie as the car does "feel" better then mine eg virtual dash is amazing and the alcantara on the wheel feels good etc.

All in all it is perhaps the PFL turned up to 11 and a really nice place to be sat.

Would the lack of pops and crackles put you off, i.e. Does it take some of the drama away from the experience as it's something I love about the PFL?

If you had the chance to switch at a good price, would you?

I actually meant using the contact us on audi.co.uk you can chat to customer support - it may be the same as facebook - not sure but it is real time chat on the audi site.

My build date jumped around so much - the actual week date it started the build (the 10th June) was a week earlier than my original estimate (when I first logged into my audi the estimated build date was the 17th June). It jumped forwards to the 8th May and back to the 12th July - before settling pretty much where it started. I would expect the same for you, it can move forward - it does happen - but until you get status 20 - its not set in stone.

I am sure you guys are aware if you log into my audi and then put the URL:

https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/v1/orders/XXXXXX

(where XXXXX is your order number) then it will show you more detail and exact times of status updates, and your current status. But you MUST log into my audi first or it will not work.

I shall keep that in mind because you don't get instant replied on Facebook. I bet that live chat team have had enough of car location requests haha!

Wow that is a huge jump to the beginning of May. I'm really hoping mine stays puts now, it will work out just right.. it's 6 weeks earlier than the original date now.

It's a tricky one Doc, no doubt you will drive one and see / hear for yourself. The sound is less awesome but still awesome if you know what I mean. Also weird as the car feels really familiar but just that little bit different too. No other car in this price bracket sounds so good imho. For us in a PFL perhaps still not worth it as the cost to change is getting on for £20k, certainly for me anyway as mine is a bit leggy vs others.

Still a stunning car.

Really glad to hear that TX and has given me a little bit of relief, I know if anybody would criticise it then it's you ;) So it doesn't sound all that bad then?

What was the colour and spec of it and therefore did it look the part versus your PFL? And I assume it had sports exhaust!

Black car with silver / ally pack. Not my cup of tea although did have sport exhaust. Another fairly basic car as a demo.

Looked like one below although with a plate (this one was in service area).

I spoke to the helpful guy on the Audi live chat - basically said I wont be able to view order information until the week of build....

However, he confirmed my build date has gone from 30th October to 25th September :yahoo:

That doesn't look too bad to be fair. If not getting any styling packs then black is the colour to go for IMO.

That's similar to mine - Mythos black, titanium rotors, privacy glass and NO styling packs.... picking up Wed at 10am, cant wait !
Spoke to the dealer on Sat, my car will be the first one out of M25 Audi Whetstone, apparently they only had 5 Rs3's and they're all gone !

I really like the look of the Ford RS. I also saw that mad looking Civic Type R on Saturday.
IMO both cars look more 'purposeful' than the RS3 but appreciate many prefer the Audi's more understated looks.

Wow that was quick. my build went from ordered to qc in one day, today

they are built for different ages and markets. At nearly 50 i would look ridiculous in either of those cars

why ditch the focus rs, is the mk3 the new one. I know people who have had the focus rs and their view is...very capable great value car, decent on a track, but god awful interior and lousy build quality

Think the wife will have my s3, she test drive one at audi and liked it and with mine being very high spec and low miles at 26000 and over 3.5 years old , I only owe about 18k on it so will pay it off before I pick up the rs3. October will be a costly month. My logic is that what else would she get for that money...not much....basic a1, mid spec fiesta...no brainer

My best mate has just got an a45 AMG, and that is another level, build quality power full package, having the focus is like the bargain Hot/Hyper Hatch build quality is ok but not brilliant and doesn’t feel exclusive, luxurious, where as the rs3 and a45 are seen as the luxury hot/hyper hatch and in terms of quality a lot better

Definitely a no brainer! Just make sure she is safe mate and tell her to keep her wits about her. There was a video on Facebook a couple of weeks ago with an S3 stolen. Lady pulled up outside her house and went in with shopping, as she closed the door 3 lads bailed out of a car barged in and ripped the keys from her.. all over in 15 seconds!

I'm taking security to the extreme for the RS, to protect my family not the car... my family know to willingly hand it over. No matter how much it costs and whether I can replace it or not, I won't put my family in danger.

From the races seen on youtube the A45 right now seems to be between the S3/Golf R/M140i/Focus RS tier and RS3 in terms of speed/power. I know Hamza on youtube says its the best hot hatch to drive and he's driven all of them apart from the new RS3 and Civic Type R. I really don't like that tablet screen though or the infotainment system as a whole. It's the same one I had for a week in the C300 AMG Cabriolet and it feels dated compared to Virtual Cockpit and the retractable MMI screen, it does have better postcode search though.

Yeah, I drove all of the cars mentioned (A45 twice) and much preferred the RS3 as a place to sit. The A45 feld terribly claustrophobic to me. Didn't like the detailing or the screen. Lovely looking seats though. It was the car I most wanted until I drove the RS3 which exceeded my expectations, which is always a good thing.

good point. That always worries me, however luckily I live in a nice area where there are far nicer cars yo steal, ferrari porsches amg e63 audi r8 etc. Did think about the ghost yo stop people stealing the cars but not sure now as can't be much worse things than 3 or 4 nutters getting annoyed as they can't start the car with you near them.

Seen a 67 plate S3 in Ara blue earlier in that black edition it comes in. Looked absolutely stunning. I change my mind on Ara blue every time I see it. It most definitely needs the black pack with it, though.

agreed, the a45 is an ok looking car but is very cramped, has a very hard suspension a bit harder than dynamic on the rs3, Interior isn't great and looked very cheap and tacky compared to the s3 and rs3, visibility is and joke and it feels like driving a letterbox, rear visibility is laughable, the stuck on ipad screen looks cheap and laughable, the mmi screen and dials font is awful too, if I bought one I'd feel andndnd dials though I should buy a baseball cap and wear it back to front and at near 50 that's laughable

Sorry to say, the five door RS3 is some theives/robbers ideal car, obviously more so than the Ferrari, Porsche or R8's you mention as they can get four thugs into the car easily and yet still have the performance to give the police a run for their money........... :(

Finally I've found a pic of an RS3 Saloon in the spec I want (Floret Silver + Black Pack). I think I could get away with no red brakes then, won't get ACC either so no radar in the grill.

Beautiful combo the photogrpahy helps. Red brakes pan roof and no acc will go perfect...

Yeah, don't forget privacy glass. Just waiting for a bit but I got 2 options, get everything I want or just get the essentials.

Either:
Floret Silver
Black Alloys
SSS red stitching
Black Pack
Pan Roof
Privacy Glass
Red Brakes
Folding Door Mirrors
B&O
Phone Box
Sports Exhaust
Mag Ride

Total: £52,980

Or:
Floret Silver
SSS red stitching
Black Pack
B&O
Sports Exhaust

Total: £48,890

£4k don't sound a lot but it would effect monthlies quite a bit.

I'd at least get the black alloys on the cheaper option. At least then you'll have a car that looks and sounds the part.
