Unknow Dash Warning Symbol

Had a light come up on the driver info display (not within the clocks) at the top where the media info usually is, never seen it before and its not listed in the book so wondered if anyone can help? It looks like the "fault in brake system" or the "brake light failure" symbol in as much as its an orange circle within what looks like two brackets except that theres no exclamation mark (brake system fault) or bulb symbol (brake light) just a blank circle??
Any help would be great!

It's your front brake pads warning sensor.

Worth a quick visual check as sometimes the wires to the sensors break.

Nice1 JCS its no5 on the list! do u know if its just the fronts that have the sensor as I know the rears are shot - actually got new 1s waiting to go on! Hope the fronts dont need doing as well, will check in the morning.

The sensor is on the front only on one side think the passenger side

sorry to resurect another old thread but im not having any joy identifying this symbol




Ive had No 5 and 6 come up as in jcs356's post but cant make out what the symbol in the centers supposed to denote .

Hello there desperately need some help! I have the number 13 light come up on my a3 8l 1.8t but everything is working fine? Researched that this is break failure but there is nothing wrong with breaks or fluid. Tried unplugging the main break sensors and checked all over the calliper and can't see no problem . Any way I can get this warning light off without using a computer. Cheers

Dodgy plug or wires to the fluid reservoir cap maybe.

well if you get the screen fixed you will know what it is... otherwise do it manually

visual inspections of everything that the yellow warning symbol could be because who the hell knows what that could be!

Sorry to jump on this thread guys, I had a warning light come up:
A circle with MPH in the middle and a small number one at the '10' (on a clock) position.
I assume this is a speed warning indicator...
it came on after changing from 1st to 2nd, so not a great speed at all.
Sensor issue? Any info appreciated!

Mate that worked a treat thanks. Ok I watched your vid and the MPH with the one came up (not the 2). So what does it actually mean? Sorry, I'm a noob, just bought the S3 and doing it up...I'm learning
Mine scrolled through just like yours did. It came up at number 7....hope this makes sense.

To remove
Speed limit 1 is
Press the 'test' button for at least a second when car is moving above 5mph and it will clear

Speed limit 2 is
Ignition off, press 'test' button for 2 seconds, then with warning showing on DIS press and hold 'reset' button

I use the car daily and need it for work so can't have my car out of action for a week whilst it's fixed but yea it's pretty nackered! Either way the light went away I think it was the fluid or pads as I checked everything an it's fine now
