Quattro Tiptronic: 20T FSI or 3.2 FSI ?

Funnily enough i was reading something on here about that the other day and i cant quite remember. I think if it is say for example the new 63 plate that is a MY2014. Somebody please correct me if im wrong.

Hi! New To this thread and To the forum. Just bought my A4 on Saturday.
To any of the B8 A4 3.2 owners - have you experienced any oil issues? I've been searching and searching can't seem to find any threads about it. .. Leads me to think 1) no 1 has experienced problems or 2) there's hardly anyone with the 3.2 engine!!

Welcome. 3.2 is quite rare. I've never seen one.
Hi Thanks

Really?! I knew they were rare as at the time I purchased there were only 9 others on sale in the UK my dealer told me! But didn't think they were THIS rare haha.

Well I'm waiting for the dealer to come back to me at present hopefully they'll be able to check out the problem I seem to be having.

Here's a quick pic of my car As it is atm

If anyone has any ideas of potential mods please give your thoughts !

Looks lovely! And you've made me happy the mpg is worse than my S4. :D
Ahahaha the funniest is when you say parked up with the engine still running and you just see the mpg dropping lower and lower

My old B5 2.8 Quattro was a bit like that. I visited a small rural filling station where they still had a pump attendant. He told me to switch the engine off because he couldn't keep up. :)

I have the 3.2 quattro - had a 2.0t and hated it! The power delivery on the 3.2 is more linear which I prefer. The only down side is the fuel consumption - when pushing on I get 15mpg tops!
Mine uses a little bit of oil but nothing worrying - I've done around 5000 miles and the MMI shows half full. I did change from Castrol to Mobil and that made a big difference to the consumption.
The 3.2 is a rare spec - bit of a sleeper which I like!

I'll always pick six cylinders over four, and hang the fuel consumption.

The way it delivers power is definitely different to the 2.0t love it. Might change my oil and see if it improves. The annoying thing is the dealer told me they 'topped' it up with the oil for life just before I came to collect it. So not sure what that's all about. Will see how it goes!
