Hi, can anyone help??? im after dismantling the dash airvents so that i can get the trim chrome plated. does anyone know how they come apart?

I've got a couple jpg files. PM with your email.

pm'd - also does this show you how to get them out opf the dash?

I've been thinking about doing this, do the vents from a TT fit easily?

Click them round to about 2 o clock and you will feel it click lightly. Then using something that wont mark (I used a plastic picnic knife!) put it behind and prise the vent out. The chrome just clicks off but you need to be quite forecful and careful at the same time.

yup straight fit from the new TT, In my opinion they look better too

Does it have to be a new shape TT, seen some on eBay from a TT from a 2003 TT, thanks

once the air vents are out how the hell do you get them apart?? got the small silver trim at the front off but how do you take the turning bezel out to chrome it??

Not sure how to take them apart, usually the whole unit gets replaced.

I've got mine out of the car and looking at the they go together once in the factory and that's how it stays

Im sure they must come apart. looks like the gears hold it all together. im going to see if they will prize apart anyway at all.

Post up from the grave, anyone manage to strip one of these?
