Hi All,

I have an A3 TDi 170 DSG and want to fit a mechanical Boost Gauge.

I have the vent pod sorted and need advise on there to tap in to the boost Pressure pipe?

Any ideas?

There is no T off u can use, I drilled a hole in a bolt and using a rubber washer drilled a hole in a metal alloy boost hose after the intercooler and simply stuck my 5mm rubber hose on to that.

Cheers Evo,

I'm goint to tap in to the rubber hose just before the EGR housing.

Thats the best point according to Barry the Car Wizard.
Merlin do a 5mm Tap off feed that fits in the hose.

Pictures up soon.

so there is no other way of doing this on the 2.0 tdi without having to tap into a pipe? thanks, marcus

where did you get the boost gauge? I contacted awe who also do a vent boost gauge and they sed the was for 2.0 fsi (petrol) models only. p.s. do you have any photos. Sean

thats mine fitted :) really easy to do in the end lol

Sorry for interrupting this thread, I was going to ask the same thing!!.. I fitted a defi boost gauge to my drivers side dash vent in the weekend and was unsure as to where to plumb the gauge pipe to, so I tapped it into the turbo actuator vacumn pipe as a temporary basis.
i was going to post a question as where should it be connected as I know where on petrol cars but am unsure where on a 2.0 tdi engine.
my gauge shows -6 bar on Tickover and goes up to 0 bar when you change gear when driven hard.
looks like I will have to tap into this egr pipe as well then, does anyone know if there anywhere else that you can tap into for the gauge to work correctly.

I'm also looking to do this, I'm happy with the wiring side but does anyone have a picture of where they tapped in to?

Cheers

Hi mate Iv been and done it now and had to tap into the main boost pipe at the front of the engine!
There's no other way other than fitting an EGR delete kit!

I used an airline fitting and got an engineer to make me a nut to fit it, Iv got my whole pipe going spare now if interested!
