Rear Isofix Fitting Guide

I don't use the sleeves, I find they deform the seats too much and aren't needed to locate the seat.

My daughter always goes on the nearside, but I'm not sure there's a recommended side as such. Statistically that side would keep her away from oncoming traffic more, and of course it's also kerbside.

And are the sleeves necessary?
Only if you swap the seat in and out the car on a regular basis.
They are not so expensive and our isofix Seat came with yellow ones. Audi news are black - can always be added.

I've been offered one (without sleeves) for £20 .. so I'm inclined to accept although your stats make me rethink as its a drivers side version ..

My stats are based on my opinion rather than any actual facts....!

Grrrrrr so angry!!!!

My kit came today .. went to fit it .. not alot of room as James described but okay .. one screw in fine. 2nd one doesnt! .. Its lined up just magic but wont turn!

Im only using torx allen keys though so may be the problem?

Anyway decided as i was struggling to pull rear bench up .. clip snapped didnt it  .. anybody know how much these one use clips are and what the part number is?

Thanks!

This is all Etka lists for a saloon bench:

Saloon?

I have an Avant lol - but never mind I've fixed it now .. 84p for a new clip .. and a socket set for the torx bolt .. nice and tight now :)

Does anyone know whether this mod works on the convertible (or whether isofix was standard on the convertible?).

Many thanks!

I'm pretty sure it does, but just lift out your bench (bottom half of the back seat) and check for the mounting points on each side...

PLEASE: do NOT try to fit front seat isofix / front seat child seats without a professional fitting a switch for the passenger airbag!!

Hi, where did you get the 84p clip as i have just bust mine!!!!:crying:

Just registered to say thanks to those who posted the useful information in this article.

I own a 2005 A4 B7 saloon. I bought the parts for the left-hand side from pjmspeedy (about £80) who was excellent to deal with, so thanks to him too.

My car DOESN'T have fold-down seats, so it was an absolute pain to put the bracket in place and get the torx bolts into the bracket without dropping them, but I managed to do it without taking out the rear bench after about half an hour of utter faff and swearing.

Still, job done, and I wouldn't have managed it without the info, advice and pictures in this thread, so thanks very much!

Im in a similar situation, how can i go about getting the following:

Isofix Bar - 8EO 813 545A
Sleeves - 8LO 887 233 (x2)
Torx Bolts - WHT 001 230
44.04 in total

Any help would be really appreciated as the wife is on my back.

cheers

As per QuattroJames first post - all parts listed there!
Left ISOFIX bar is 8E0 813 545 A and Riight Isofix bar 8E0 813 546 A
Two bolts required per bar and two sleeves per bar.

From Post 10.

I see that but which side is left? Look at car from front then the left is driver side. Look at car from behind then left is passenger side. Not very clear hence why I asked.

No problem.

Left is nearside, ie passenger side.

Left and right is always stated as if facing forward from within the car.

Thanks for adding this, I just panicked thinking I've made a bad decision talking the mrs into buying a B7 avant, phew!! I couldnt find better than £60 in the huge amount of time I spent looking (must be 4 mins tops). It's a shame this isn't sunken further back so it doesnt damage the leather seats!

Hi

Can someone point me in the right direction to purchase a left hand side bracket, sleeves and bolts as we need to fix the isofix bar to our Audi.

Many thanks in advance!

Local TPS or Audi for the bars and bolts. Nowhere else sells them new. Try eBay for second hand but a lot of them are up the £70 mark.

Part numbers -

8E0813545A - N/S isofix bracket
8E0813546A - O/S isofix bracket

8L0837453 bracket bolts - 2 per bracket.

Ok cheers. I'll give Audi a call. Thanks for your reply.

Just a quick update to this. I bought the above part numbers from Coulsdon Audi today, the brackets and bolts (no sleeves) came to £120 so quite an increase.

Fitted no problem without the need to remove the bench.

S4 Avant :)

Thanks for the update, Adam... I'd encourage to hunt around for the parts a little more... e.g. even SEAT dealers seem to carry "Audi" parts for less than half the price.... plus I'd encourage people to pull the bench out (2 seconds out and and <20 secs back in).... it'll make fittng these parts a stress free doddle... I'd probably still be using mine if I didn't need a "bench" big enough for three kiddy seats (not all isofix :()....

I ordered some through my local Audi dealership recently.

Is PJMSpeedy still able to supply these parts?

What seat bases are people using in their cars?

I was going to buy a maxi cosi one from mothercare but they wouldn't sell me one as my car was too old and wasn't crash tested!

I've got Maxi Cosi two-way base with Pearl seat. Does both rearward and forward facing. Got a base in each of the two cars and one seat. The Pearl seat is the toddler seat, the Pebble seat also works with the same base and is the baby seat.

Great seat, easy to move around etc. Not cheap though, bases are £175 each and seats £200.

Silver cross simplifix isofix base and simplicity 0+ seat. Doddle to fit and Which? Best Buy. Sounds like that Motherercare needs to do their homework as the Maxi cosi was our other alternative and perfectly compatible!

Thanks for the info.

I've got a maxi cosi pebble plus seat and was looking at the maxi cosi two way base.

I will be getting one but just not from mothercare!!

Seat

Hi all. Great thread.

Looking to buy a 2004 B6 Avant which I understand does not have ISOFIX as standard.

I've gone through the threads, but struggling to find pics. Pics from this thread are also removed - can anyone reshare pic?

I want to see what holes I should be looking for when buying and secondly what the finished article looks like post retrofit e.g. if seat and base is removed is there a disruptive piece of metal on show?

Does anyone know whether audi still supply these?

I also upload the one and only pic I have been sent by the seller - are these the holes for the retrofit kit and do they exist on both left and right should i want both?

Seat

Yes that's the holes for the ISOfix bracket, they're present on both sides. B6 isofix brackets are handed - part numbers should be earlier in this thread but I've got them saved somewhere should you need them.

The bracket doesn't stick out as much as it looks in the pic, it's just the plastic sleeves have been in for near 3 years and distorted the seat cushions. Stains on seat not compulsory but pretty much unavoidable!!

Thanks that’s helpful.

So with baby seat base removed, doesn’t it get in the way for normal passengers.
