LOL sorry for the title of thread, but I just thought I would share with you the pictures of damage that I caused to my car a while back.

To start with I must state that the car was only lowered 30mm at the time.

As the story goes I was coming out of a pub car park and saw that there were sleeping Police Men (barriers) folded down, but thought nothing of it and just went to drive out, but they stopped my car dead. So the next time I took a run up at it and heard another thud, but this time cleared it. At the time my mate said he saw tarmac come out of the ground, and I saw that I had bent the lower brace.

So it came as a surprise when I came to have my coil-over’s and sump guard fitted that I had actually bent the lower sub frame as well!

Can't really see in the pictures, but trust me it was bent!

It was low though

Here is a picture of my shiny new coil-over’s fitted

Hopefully this will stop the same thing happening again!

I think I'll take off over speed bumps LOL

i did something similar going over something in the middle of my mates drive which his gates sit on when they are closed. instead it just ripped off part of the sub frame... :-/ audi say it won't matter but after your pics i'm not so sure!

Were did you get the sump guard from, or is it a custom jobbie?

Nice work Mark, guess your keeping the beast then. :D

Cheers dude.

Yeah she's staying for the time being. Probably keep her for another 2 years until I'm 25, then buy something mad :D

exactly what i was thinking ? no offence but is that not a little bit of a stupid thing to do ? if you were filming a scene for transporter 2 then fair enough your car may have leapt into the air for no reason & cleared it, did it not cross your mind what would actually win out of the two (barriers v sub frame etc).

Yeah I know it's my fault. I'm not normally that daft (I recently got a first class honours degree!) I was in a rush. So just thought b*gger it, it's only the lower strut brace LOL

Learnt my lesson LOL

LOL^^^^^^!

What coilovers you go for in the end mate?

They are an older model of the current KW V1's, that's why the colours are different (Got them off EBay from Germany)

Any pics of the car on coilovers?

Not at the moment dude, as I can't run the front as low, as I want due the width of my wheels and the adjuster cups on the coil-over's. Will have to get some 5 - 10mm spacers at some stage.

Mark.

I need a sump guard like that mate but can't find many places that it would be able to be bolted to. Did you have to drill extra holes or something?

Makes me laugh that you had a 2nd run at it, did you not think after it stoping you dead the first time that it may damage the underside???

was gonna say, i thought ya sold it too lol....i remeber when u bought that strut brace mark & remeber you it seemed a bit low at the time lol oh well....hows the type R?
