a3 rear bumper conversion (pics) 8p2-8p3

just bought mu audi a3 s line in black, its the 170bhp version.
i want to change the rear bumper to the new 8p3 version the 2009>model look

here is mine


here is the one i fancy


it cant be a straight swap surely ?
my 56 plate has 2 exhausts but this only has one.
does anyone have any info on the conversion ?

You need the different valance to cater for the twin pipes, but yes can be swapped over as long as its 3dr to 3dr or 5dr to 5dr.

As far as I am aware... you need a completely near bumper for that mod...

I think the only other option is the 3 Door S3 bottom splitter.

Yep, new 8P3 bumper needed and also the valance. 3dr 8P3 bumpers aren't the easiest to come by in decent nick and the valance pictured isn't cheap either.

I was going to do this on mine but can't afford it so got 2 8P3 bumpers in my garage atm

i can pick up a s line rear bumper for £150 from ebay, so aslong as its a 3dr i would only need to change the valance and thats it ?
the valance is the grey diffuser bit right ?

If you're getting the valance pictured from Audi, it comes in a couple of different bits which add up to over £200 in total. A3Kent on here sells both single and double exhaust valances.

Where abouts are you located? I've got a Black 8P3 bumper that you could have off me for a lot less than £150. Only needs a tiny bit of prep.

is it the s line bumper ?

i can get a full 8p3 bumper with correct twin exhaust valance for £130 it just needs painting black heres the link theres a few on internet

No I don't mate. I don't know of many people who have done this upgrade as it's a completely different 3 part bumper.

Im pretty sure if you have a 8p2 (pre facelift <58plate)
You have the 3 part bumper.
You will need the 8p3 bumper from 58plate onwards to be able to fit the mesh type valance as pictured above on the 3dr audi.

I could possibly be wrong so dont quote me on this!

Yes you need the newer type bumper for the newer type valance.
