Dateless Audi

At the weekend I decided to remove the battery so I could get rid of the compost and foliage that can block the drain holes.

Battery back on and everything is reset just fine apart from the date is missing. I had set the time and date but once everything has stopped flashing the date disappears and I am just left with the time. If I press mode again the date appears but once again disappears once it stops flashing
Been in to the owners manual and it gives no clues and Dr Google didn't really help

You can set the date to display or not. When you go through all the settings, pushing mode button to move on to the next, the last should be a flashing date, push the mode and the flashing should stop.

The flashing stops but the date disappears

Have you tried disconnecting the battery again for 30mins so everything powers down fully / resets and reconnect ?
