Hi guys,

I thought I would start a thread for my build week. I have been told I have BW 41 with a delivery date of end of October/early November. Glospete, who's own progress I have been following daily (!!), estimates it's likely to be w/c 3 November. For those who have not seen my earlier posts, the order was placed on 4 May and I was originally given a delivery date in August.

The countdown now officially begins...

Andrew

I think given what you've been through with your dealer running out of allocation, you're right to get this started early !!!

:)

Thanks Veeeight! My thinking was, if I was given a BW in that range, I wouldn't be the only one...

I shall be following this thread from now on! It is never too soon to start it!
Monday is only 4 sleeps away!

Had an update of sorts from my dealer yesterday as follows:-

It is still at build week 41, however the factory starts production again soon after the Summer break so there is always a possibility it could come forward.

I didn't realise that they have a Summer break!

I have been given an as yet unconfirmed build slot in week 43 with delivery of end October / early November. I;m assuming some time in November and any earlier would be a bonus.

This is for an A3 Sportback 2.0 184 S line Quattro S tronic with more options than sense (I did at least remove mag ride).

Hopefully mine will come forward as well then!

I'm guessing my car will be built around this time as I've been given a est delivery of mid/late November.

Hopefully I get a provisional build week soon!

I've been thinking whether to start this thread off but only date I have been told is 28th Nov. Anyway I had a lot of fun telling my sister the other night my full spec. Fortunately she's as nutty as I am with an A5 3ltr S-Line SB. However I did struggle to tell her the difference between S-Tronic and her Multitronic 'box.

S-tronic, or DSG, is a manual gearbox, with real gears and cogs, that is shifted automatically with hydraulics and electronics.

Multitronic, is a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that constantly varies the ratios of the gears with a large belt/chain. The major characteristic of this kind of box is that as you accelerate, the speed increases, but the engine revs do not increase with speed, nor change (as there are no "gears").

Thanks for that Veeeight! Production codes; can they be tracked anywhere or are they only obtainable from the dealer? I am loathe to keep contacting the dealer as I don't like being a pain in the proverbial...

Dealer, or Ring Audi CS. Have your 8 digit order number handy.

Hi All, First post!

My S3 is due for build in BW43 or 46. Not yet confirmed. Just thought I'd tag onto this thread!:sm4:

Well, I contacted Aberdeen Audi for the first time today regarding build dates on the slim chance my S3 Saloon was allocated a build date and it appears I've got BW41 (6th October) and an estimated delivery date 3rd November. That's a month earlier than expected.

It's good to have a date to focus on now :)

What was your order date Martinbanshee?

Placed the order on the 7th of June and was told it would be a December delivery which was fine with me, just emailed them today on the off chance of an update so the early build date is good news for me.

I was hoping for mine to be at the end of Nov but was told it would be early Nov. Has anyone left their car at the dealer for a few weeks before?

He said it would be OK beside the manager moaning about space, however I don't want them messing about with it, my first Audi had 76 miles on it, kick marks inside and the radio on blast!! All wheels curbed badly too, I collected it as soon as it arrived so I'm concerned if I leave it there for three weeks it may look like (and be the size of!) a toaster.

I think I got BW 41, I'm not too fussed/not really asking or tracking - man you guys are impatient :haudrauf:

Ordered in August, I think build times whether ordered in April or August will be the same as they must allocate the later part of the year for the S3/A3.

Called my dealer today, although not confirmed looking like build week 42. Audi s3 hatch. Looking about late November - can't wait !

Just when I thought I had a thread to hang on to - the dealers just informed me that its now build week 40 not 43!! Yippee - 'suppose I better tag onto the BW 37, 38, 39, 40 thread :)

I initially ordered Brilliant Red but changed my order to Misano Red after I saw an A3 Saloon in Misano outside the dealership. The Misano really showed off the lines of the Saloon, much more than Brilliant Red and even in dull weather.

Out of interest what colour's has everyone ordered? ( if not keeping a secret like me haha ) as I think a lot of exclusive / custom colours are being built around this time.

I ummed and arred. Started with Daytona, moved to Scuba, thought about Shiraz then went for Misano. Would've loved an exclusive colour but couldn't stretch to the extra cost.

Yes very true, it ain't cheap but IMO it's worth it. This is my first new car and although I love the colour of the S3's I've had previously ( imola yellow and sprint blue ) I cannot wait for this one.

The thrill of choosing and spec'ing a new car is VERY addictive, colour is everything to me and personalising it has been amazing.

Misano is a great colour, prefer it to brilliant hands down

Yeah, it's nicer in the sun too.

I'm curious though, how does the Misano Red compare to the colour you've ordered?
