Qperformance ???

Hi , over the last few months I've been following various A3's advertised on E-bay by a company called Qperformance , based in Accrington Lancs. They take a fairly high mileage A3 or Golf and pretty it up , they fit an S3 style kit , font spoiler grille , sills rear bumper etc. They also fit S3 suspension , brakes , wheels , exhaust and a nice looking S-line interior , usually leather and Bose sounds !! In fact you can pick and choose whatever bits you want !!! They service , and remap the engine boosting the power , torque and fuel performance !! The cars I've seen have ranged from 04 plates to 58 plates and from £4500 - £6500 depending on age and spec etc. All their reviews read good , nobody seems to have a bad word to say about them , and I've had long e-mail conversations with the top man and he seems very obliging and extremely professional , think his name is Tanny , I also had a chat with him about 4-5months ago when I first started looking , think they were just changing premises , again hugely accommodating and professional , I think they have a stock of scrap car parts from Audi VW cars so whatever you want they can do , as I say the only downside is that the car is usually high miles but from what I read on here a 130,000 mile A3 diesel is nothing to worry about ????
Has anybody had dealings with , or heard good or bad things about these guys , I'm really hoping all is good because I'm hoping to buy a car from them fairly soon , but I would appreciate any news good or bad or advice for or against doing what they do ???????

anything on ebay that isn't standard i would stay well away from espec cars that are altered for sale you have no idea if it was accident damaged or not, besides genuine OEM S3 kits cost a small fortune infact all the parts you mention aren't cheap. not slating that Co but just my opinion.

Any car made to look like something it isn't in the Lancashire area or greater manchester I'd steer well clear of! 90% if not all will be accident damaged..

Also he's gonna be nice as pie with you if they want your money there not going to be sturn with you! Also it doesn't take much for friends an family to leave good feed back.

They may well be a good company and the cars are not damaged but to me someone has to pay the piper.
(Deep breath) I had an 8L S3 and to me it was one of the last proper 'S' cars the only thing that went missing on them was the wing mirrors!!
Audi made a decision to chase the money by bringing out cars with interchangeable parts and never gave it a second thought that it will fund a black market for parts,I read/hear of car jackings,keys burgled from houses,people threatened for keys,my daughters friend has had visitors to their house twice because an S3 is outside.

So summing up do not buy a car with a better cars parts on it.

Wow !!! Thanks guys , this is not what I was hoping to hear , hadn't really thought where all the parts come from !!! Really has made me think hard about whether I want to do this , was really hoping to find somebody who had had dealings with them , it all seems so great , you get a nice economical diesel A3 , strap on a few nice parts and a bit of paint and wham !!! You have a lovely car with all your requirements and for old car money , suppose it does sound too good to be true !!! Really need to give this some serious thought now !!

Hi guys , I have to say that I'm afraid I went against all your advice , just something about talking to Tanny , the owner of qperformance , he just inspired confidence that he was honest and sincere and also really knew what he was talking about !! I have to say I was not disappointed , he got me a 140bhp A3 , fitted seamlessly a superb S3 style body kit , new wheels , break discs and pads , wheels and new tyres etc plus a fabulous black s-line interior also a complete , top to bottom re spray !!!! The car is an absolute delight , drives beautifully , huge extensive service history , a wad of receipts , and from the moment I arrived I smiled and kept smiling until my jaws ached !!! His communication was second to none , over 85 photos taken along the week long process and at least a dozen calls filling me in on progress . This man and his company , really are as good as they sound , if in doubt , try him , you won't be sorry !!! Also his team are superb , really look after you , the whole thing from start to finish was a huge pleasure !!!!!

I'm sure he used to be called vw specialist, if it the same guy I bought some gti leather for my GT Sport and must say I was a little unnerved at first when I went down to his lockup in accrington.......

But can honestly say I was happy with what I bought and they fitted it all to, all look legit and got a receipt too!

Hey guys , I was simply trying to say , that for those of us that can't afford either to own ,or run an S3 this was a reasonable alternative !!! No it's not a perfect reproduction of an S3 , it has an S3 style kit , front bumper , side sills and rear bumper , stainless steel exhaust tips , xennons , new wheels /tyres , discs/pads , very nice paint job , remapped if you want , I chose not too , and a very nice S-line interior in black leather , the body kit is brand new and comes off a rack in his body shop , I've seen them stacked , the wheels and tyres are brand new and the interior comes from a smashed car , is this really so different from buying parts from a breakers yard ???? Sorry if my enthusiasm came across like advertising but this guy has produced a car to my request and spec , with no pressure selling or pushing and at a reasonable price !!!! Believe me or believe me not it was all quite genuine !!! I was just trying to share my experience .

If your worried about the car being accident damaged then get it HPI'd before hand. its very desirable to facelift the A3 and if their doing it on a car their selling then you save yourself a lot of hassle. just check the car over properly. just because its in Manchester and Lancaster doesn't mean there is something wrong with it.

the advert doesn't tell you anything about the car, age, miles ect. why would you buy a car on the bacis thats it a golf R32 rep.
