Hi,

been reading westy's thread on the 'catch can' and see that he mounted his on the bulk head where the relay box was,

Where have other people mounted there's ? Or is that the best option.

Cheers

I dont know if you saw mine in the other thread but the catch can i brought wouldnt fit where the relay box it, the pipes angle upwards and hit the strut brace. So i drilled two holes in the battery box and mounted it on the side of there. http://i.imgur.com/6FEkraE.jpg

Yes I did see that cheers mate, did a search also and it either seems to bulk head, the side of the battery tray or on the heat shield of the cone filter.

Not even sure I'm going to bother, been reading on another forum that the standard audi PVC system is actually very good besides the possibility of pipes perishing.

Going to do the N249 bypass though, long over due !

Nice! What type of fittings did you use?
About 1.5m of 19mm ID oil grade, two 90 degree joins and one T-peice. The 19mm hose fits straight onto the rocker cover and the oil breather. Also about 3 million jubelees :p

Can anyone tell me which way the one way valve on the brake boost pipework needs to face. (to the servo or to the inlet)

That and the potential for all the oily nasty vapour to end going through your turbo and throttle body etc. For the amount of work it involves i'll be carrying mine out just to simplify the PCV system and get the potential added bonus of gunk free inlet pipework.

I spent a fair bit of time pondering this exact question my self and have literally just done (or re-done I suppose) my catch can tonight, here's what I came up with...

After having a little sniff about looking for places I could mount it I saw is threaded hole behind the battery box:

Absolutely no idea what used to be there, if anything!?

I then knocked up a simple bracket from 3mm steel:

And mounted the catch can:

Quite pleased with the result if I'm honest and didn't take long at all either! . . Hope this gives you some inspiration

it's one of the mounting points for where your standard airbox used to be before it was replaced with a cone filter
