Well it will be when I collect it in March 2015 :crying:

Just completed my order and fiance agreement for a new Audi S3 saloon this afternoon. To say I'm pleased is a huge understatement. Getting quoted March 2015 delivery at the mo which is a bit of a pain, but hey

Spent the last 10 days on the phone to various Audi dealers and brokers to get the best deal I could. In the end I had 2 identical deals (the first of which I was offered I accepted) & another £40 more expensive than the other two. Offered the deal to my local Audi, who were quite frankly uninterested. Shame really as I have had my last new 3 Audi's from them. Just pleased I have a good relationship with the service department there

I'm happy with the level of discount I've got and the deal that was put together. Not part exhanging my current Audi. Thats being sold separately

Quite a minimal spec on the new S3 but dont really need anything else TBH

Spec

  • Audi S3 Saloon 2.0 TFSI quattro
  • S-tronic
  • Pearl effect sepang blue
  • Black fine nappa leather with silver stitching
  • Black headling
  • 19"€ 5 twin spoke star anthracite wheels
  • Magnetic ride
  • Comfort pack
  • Parking system plus
  • Cruise control
  • Interior lighting pack
  • Light & rain sensor pack
  • Hill hold assist
  • Door mirrors electric folding
  • Audi 10 speaker sound system

I have no build week as yet, but the orders in. The very painful wait begins ...

Standby for lots & lots if inane questions till it arrives lol

Haven't seen another Uk sepang blue S3 saloon on here, but I haven't been a member long so stand to be corrected ;)

Welcome to audi-sport.net and the 8v section. Waiting for the new car is the normal in here. Plenty to read to take your mind off it. Enjoy the forum. :) x

Hi Bristol hound,

I too have just ordered a Sepang S3 saloon - just on Tuesday, with a few more bits and pieces. Date I have is April but that's only rough, have been told approx mid march. It's going to be a long wait......

I think we will start to see real life pics soon from fellow sepang saloons. That will hopefully keep us going.

Si

A fellow sepang S3 saloon wait-er. Wonder who get their's first buddy?

Just out of interest what spec have you gone for?

Found some pics on 'tinterweb of a MY15 USA spec one

Should keep you & I going for a while -

They look awful, have you thought about another colour? Misano is gorgeous and Glacier white stunning.

No adaptive cruise control? Absolute MUST on s-tronics IMHO.....

BTW: I love the colour.

@mcnallys - Only thing I can see you've missed out is the panny roof!!!

Like you, ours is being bought as a 'keeper'

Would have taken you seriously Steve had I not been reading other sepang blue threads you've posted on lol  :laugh:

They do look stunning don't they? My Sepang S3 SB attracts lots of admiring glances, you wont be disappointed. The only issue I've found is that it 's just such a stunning colour when it catches the light I hate to see mine dirty or dusty so get all your detailing kit in place ready.

The colour really suits the saloon doesn't it?

I did seriously think about ACC (& other 'toys' lol), but in the end opted for 'standard' CC. It took me long enough to get a S3 past SWMBO in the first place, so dont want to go upsetting her lol

Cheers :)

Like you, we love the colour. Has to be the nicest one for the S3 saloon IMHO

Don't mention Detailing, unfortunately I have that 'addiction'. Costs me a ****** fortune! lol

Well... all I can say is I won't buy another Audi without one. I use it all the time. We have standard cruise in our other car and that hardly ever gets used.

Mmm, I went to Waxstock last weekend and my stock of detailing equipment and materials is getting so large I'm struggling to find any where to put it. 'Er indoors thinks I'm bonkers.

Hi guys, Yes I did consider pano roof, but too much for apiece of glass. We have a newish z4 m sport for need for sun on my face ( well cloud). As for Acc - we don't do many miles and very little motorway really, plus the look of that ball thing spoils the front.

I too have OCD for car cleaning, but sure it's a good hobby. I have a family member in 'the trade' so car stuff is pretty good value.

Now checking out accessories and getting A4 SE ready for sale - 3 perspective buyers already.......

Lovely car and beautiful colour but personally I couldn't spend that kind of money without adding the Tech Pack and at least the Audi Sound System if not the B&O.

Bristle Hound - congrats on the order and superb colour (from a fellow Sepang but SB owner).

Re options: you are at the start of a slippery slope as we on here love recommending options to add to other peoples cars.....

John.

I'm not the only one then lol

Every time I have a clear out it's just leaves spaces for me to buy more gear :) Mad!

Unfortunately I haven't got bottomless pockets, so have to stop somewhere I'm afraid :)

Thanks John :)

I've got the wife to hide the brochure until my order is in 'lock down'. Added interior light pack last night because of this Forum lol

No more tho', piggy banks empty :(

Why so many options Audi? Lol

Sounds like a nice spec, I didn't go daft on options either. There are always comments on threads like these that you must have this and you must have that .. Usually ACC and tech pack/big screen etc. but I disagree.

I do very little motorway so ACC wasted on me. And it's an S3, I want to drive it, not sit there, steer and have it drive itself. May as well have the 1.2 if I wanted that.

Tech also wasted, I have a mac, ipad, iphone etc all at home. Have absolutely no interest in google maps or checking twitter or Facebook in the car. Again I bought the car to drive not to use as a £35k laptop 😜

You will find some very nice photos here of an S3 sedan in Sepang Blue:

Galleries - Fourtitude.com

Ours hopefully gets loaded on a boat next week in Bremenhaven and make its slow journey down under, expecting to take delivery early October at this stage (in total a 9 month wait).

I found those same pics after a late session on the 'tinterweb last night, very nice indeedy :)

Very jealous of your forthcoming arrival buddy

Looking foreword to seeing the pics when it arrives

I've also ordered a Sepang Saloon. Due to collect on 1 Sept from an order at the start of March. Most of the wait was fine, but the last couple of weeks knowing it has been built, and is somewhere between the factory and York, has been a real struggle. Trying to resist being a total geek and track the journey. I'm sure that would just make it worse.

Only saving grace is I've still got the TT. Will miss her when she goes in 3 weeks

Anyway, enjoy ASN while you wait and don't second guess your options. It'll be great with what you have chosen

Great & I've got to wait 6 months for mine :(

Seriously tho' very jealous

Again looking foreword to pics, which I'm hoping will be plenty ;)

Ahahah... No it isn't. ACC works best on roads that aren't motorways. When you're sat behind something you can't do anything about and the speed limit is 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70....

Still, if you will believe it's a waste of money, that's your prerogative ;)

That's where in Australia, we're lucky as Audi has simplified things by bundling most the options in just two packages.

S Performance Pack - Sports seat, LED lights, B&O, mag ride and red callipers.

Driver assist Pack - ACC, lane assist.

Only other options really is sun roof, load through port hole, folding mirrors and privacy glass.

Just done and insurance quote for the S3 and got rather a pleasant surprise

Full comp. protected NCD, £250 excess, garaged, wife & I to drive

£142.33 for the year with Sheila's Wheels

That's a damn good price!

So many people fail to realise that car insurance premiums are more about the driver than the car. Lost count of how many times I've seen new drivers moaning that their premium is several times the cost of their old banger, yet fail to realise they could still kill someone with it or write off a £60k BMW.

All these options to play with is driving me nuts!

So many to choose from so little money lol

Be glad when its 'locked down' TBH :)

Just phoned the Dealer to change my order (again lol) with 2 additional options added, which are -

Door mirrors - folding
Audi sound system

No more!

The Dealer i bought from has discounted each of the three additional options I've added by the discount I got on the initial order, which the Dealer who I last bought my new Audi from didn't

Amended spec now reads (it wont let me edit the original post :()

Spec

  • Audi S3 Saloon 2.0 TFSI quattro
  • S-tronic
  • Pearlescent sepang blue
  • Black fine nappa leather with silver stitching
  • Black headling
  • 19” 5 twin spoke star anthracite wheels
  • Magnetic ride
  • Comfort rack
  • Parking system plus
  • Cruise control
  • Interior lighting pack
  • Light & rain sensor pack
  • Hill hold assist
  • Door mirrors - folding
  • Audi sound system

Not even SD navigation?
Hill hold you don't need with S-tronic. You can left foot brake if necessary!

I'm sure the spec will be added to a few more times. March'15 is a very long wait.
I enquired about a S3 saloon and was told because Audi UK want to take the lowest number from Audi DE that they can as not to hit A4 sales I would have to wait until March too.
If I were to wait until March for a new car I would have ordered a TT Mk3 instead!

Not even SD navigation?

Nope, don't need it

Main reason for adding it was I have it my current Audi & wouldn't be without it TBH

Noooooooooo, don't say that Martin

March'15 is a very long wait.

If I want one I gotta wait. No choice I'm afraid

Interesting as I have it in the A1 and it's hopeless I find with the start/stop.
I find by the time the engine has started up again it'll release the brake before the stronic can take up the slack making it roll back a slight bit. It works fine if the engine doesn't shut down as the time is enough.
Perhaps it's improved in the A/S3.

Stop/start? Work of the devil lol

My current A4 doesn't have it, but my wife's MINI JCW does. Always always switch it off, which I will be doing on the S3 :)

But how will you ever reach the official mpg figures otherwise. That's why I'm buying a S3 for the economy :whistle2:

Stop start will come in handy for my commute. If I get caught in traffic in my TT mpg can drop to the low 20s. Start stop in the S3 should help to keep it higher....... Hopefully....
