Hello peeps, posted in the welcome section but thought I'd go on here aswell.
Just ordered an S3 for December collection, will miss the M135i such a great car and will miss the noise most but looking forward to having the planted feel of the S3 in winter on my back roads.
I also test drove the A45 AMG but was left very dissapointed with the amount of rattles and squeaks from its cheap looking interior and for 46k it just wasn't worth anywhere near that.

Any my spec is as follows

Glacier white
Sportback
S tronic
Pan roof
Supersport seats
Bang and olefsun
SD sat nav
Heated electric folding mirrors
Comfort pack
Park assist
Front/rear sensors
Keyless entry
Privacy glass

Won't do much to this one maybe an APR map when they sort one out but that's it, I thought about waiting for the RS3 but again at a probable 50k it's not worth it so I thought id go cheaper and then at the end of my term get the new shape RS6

Great spec and Glacier white really is a nice colour, my last car was that colour. Any idea of a delivery date?

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Did you have a good long test drive? As some people find that the BMW is a more rewarding car to drive. The S3 (and A3's come to that) are very refined and it's not seat of the pants motoring. But I love mine and very happy with it.

Very nice spec! Big difference on the interior from the BMW to the Audi!! Enjoy!

Delivery date is said to be late December :( as for the basic sat nav it was really only a residual value thing I don't really need it as my longest journeys are only half hour or so.
I had a decent test drive and the M135I is quite a bit more of an experience to drive and mine with the optional M performance exhaust sounded leagues ahead of any hatch I've ever driven including the A45 AMG, it seemed to have a bit more mid range poke than the S3 aswell and it understeers slightly less. But my priorities have changed, the M135i was quite twitchy in Winter even slow 10mph corners induced traction control, it wasn't an uncontrollable animal but made me worry when the Mrs took the kids to school who go to a school in the midle of nowhere. I'm just glad we had no snow while I had it.
The S3 seems more refined, the interior with the Supersport seats is leagues apart and there is nowhere near the squeaks and rattles I get in mine, the main reason though was the 4WD which means it's got a far better 365 days usability.
I just hope maidstone Audi provide as good aftercare as Broadoak bmw did.

Shared with my mate who owns a shmee em rubberyou.

ha ha funnily enough I went S3 to M135i recently just to be awkward

(My S3 previous model 2011 had a problem the main dealer wouldnt/couldnt sort, drove me mad so it had to go back and I cut my losses, couldnt find anything with the right spec and didnt fancy waiting for a new one)

On the bmw its up on the dash and cant be hidden away like the new S3, you can turn it off though, which is what I do, via one of the numbers on the stereo which you can program to do this in one hit.

Just had a look on the Audi configuration site and its a bigger screen and more features, I'm not fussed tbh I'm never in the car long enough to be bothered by a couple of inches ( oooooh errrrr) I'd get it if I was a commuter or keen driver but it's not worth another 1k to me

No I have access to youporn.com at home and if I feel the need to pull over for a five knuckle shuffle I'll use my phone lol

Tbh I went for basic nav on my m135i and missed out on all the split screen and music stuff an Internet and it was more than adequate

Don't think you'll get anywhere near the enjoyment factor driving the S3 over the 135.
However, your eyes will appreciate not having to look at that dogs dinner every day.

Ha ha ha yes I think I may have upset a few on various bmw forums who tried to justify it's looks only for me an owner to admit it looked like a dog pound van lol I know it won't drive aswell, the M135i is so sharp and the noises it makes are something you expect from super saloon but as I say my priorities have changed somewhat and as I see it I've just swapped some good and bad points for others

I had a long test drive of an M 135i and although it made a nice noise, I couldn't get over the cheap, cramped cabin and poor quality of the paint. It just doesn't feel like a quality product.

Driving it I actually found on fast roads and with sudden changes of direction the M135i would lurch a bit. The gearbox is pants too. It has its dynamic issues also. Yes it sounded nice but thought it sounded less so once the synthesized speaker setting was turned down.

You will be happy with your S3 - its a better ownership prospect all things consodered.

After looking through many pics I've decided to go with the black styling pack, compliments the glacier white brilliantly, Co sideline getting the wheels done gloss black aswell

Hows the new A45? How come you cancelled the Audi?
