Well guys joined the fourm around 4 years ago when i owned a Audi a4 for a breif 11 months. Now am back after selling my FN2 Civic Type R. Recently purchased a lovely 2010 Audi A3 Sline Black Edition 2.0TDI, and so far it ticks all the boxes for a great a little family car and am still in shock the MPGs it does, but i suppose thats wasnt going to be hard coming from a car that acheived around 28MPG when going easy lol.

Dont really have many plans for her other than to keep her OEM and keep it clean, so far i have had the front bumper and bonnet resprayed to get rid of all the road rash, added a little Sline front grill badge and also purchased a full set of genuine Audi A3 rubber mats. Other bits coming this week are Full set of LED interior light bulbs, Number plate LEDs and looms and also a set of Ultra white fogs lights all courtesy of Trups of the fourm also ordered a set of genuine philips silver indicator bulbs for the front lights to get rid of the egg fried look, not cheap though. Then after the Dunlop tires are wore out she will be getting a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1 V2s all round, as i found these tires amazing on the FN2 for wet grip.

Here are a few pic of my new car, thanks for looking

And here is a pic of my FN2 just recenlty sold, such a fun car

Thanks for looking

Cheers matey, I do like keeping my car clean, but this is my 1st black car and I have to say already am finding it hard work trying to keep it clean lol

Which silver indicator bulbs have you ordered?
The car shines lovely! Black cars are impossible to keep clean especially if it's driven daily, but it looks like you have it down

Looks great lad, hope you can make it to some of our meets :)

Ordered the bulbs from VW, part no 107 331 02 (PSY24W SV - 38J1 Car Bulb) was doing a little looking through the fourm and found a post on Warrens S3 about the bulbs.

So got home tonight to find that my silver coated bulbs had arrived. Have to say though they do still look a little orange even with the silver coating on them. But it does seem to kill most of the orange of which am glad as really hate the fried egg look.

Here is how it looked with the OEM bulb installed:

Yea matey the fn2 was a great car, especially with flashpro and a remap, had quite a few mods done to it also. But the time came when I was looking for something a little more family friendly, and the a3 black edition ticked all the boxes as it looks good, cheap to run and it has 4 doors. Were u on any of the CTR fourms?

Your black edition certainly looks great and build quality is far better. I've got a s3 8p and love it!

I was on Civic-Type r.co.uk forum, I didn't post a lot on there lol.

Agree with you there the build quality is a lot better. Bet your S3 is nice matey have u a link to your build.

I was on that fourm and still am, have been a member since 2007 and was one of the higher posters nearly around 12000 posts. Same fourm name as I have on here. Been on there since I owned my EP3 and then the FN2

Cheers Jambo, do like keeping my cars clean. For polish Gtechnic P1, then use black hole Glaze and finish of with a few coats of Autoglym HD Wax

Here is a little Video of the P1:

I actually use p1 and black hole myself then with dodo juice purple haze.

Installed all my bulbs from trups, how much better the car looks with all bulbs replaced to LED ones and even the number plate ones also. Also the bright white fog light bulbs look as exact match to the xenon headlights. Big thanks to Trups of here for hooking me up :icon thumright:

Nice car mate. I had a black edition a3 before my s3 and I loved it! I'm interested to see some pics of the new fog lights u got! I don't like the yellow glow I get on the OEM ones despite my car being yellow haha

Gave the A3 black edition a full detail on Saturday. Washed it, dried it, Clay Bar, P1 Nano Polish, 50 Cal Filler Glaze then to finish it of a good coating of Autoglym HD Wax.
Also de-badged the rear as the badges were becoming annoying when waxing, looks far better IMO.

Here are a few pics to show you my efforts lol
