Hello audi-sport,

I've had my A3 2.0l TDI for about 3 months now... My first Audi and all of you guy helped me find it :) So i thank everyone who helped me!

I'm not a big car freak i have only just started getting into them... so was hoping some of you could enlighten me into the process of remapping and whether its worth it or not.

My car is at standard 140bhp at the moment and i understand a stage one remap would take that up to 170... am i correct?

---- Would this put an extra strain on my turbo?
---- How noticeable is it?
---- How much roughly
---- And for anyone who lives around Surrey/south west London where did you get yours done??

THANKS!

you got AMD Essex at dartford and Quantum tuning in slough and fontains in iver

I was just quoted £180 (they have a deal on at the moment) for a Stage 1 or 2 remap from Radical Remaps in Exeter, other costs I've found from companies are around the £250 mark. Bluefin (Superchips) is one of the more expensive DIY remaps at around £399 RRP (£360 with a current discount).

Radical Remaps however class a Stage 1 remap as purely improving fuel economy, they class a Stage 2 as being a more BHP/Torque increase to the 175BHP mark + 78lb torque, and increasing fuel economy.

I'm getting mine done by Jamie @ SP Tuning in Leicester this weekend. £225 and he's going to include the EGR Delete map for me! :)

Another vote for AMDTuning at Lakeside here.

They do all the work on my car,and I would recommend them to anyone.

APR at Tuningwerkes in Croydon - £335 in Summer Sale until end of August.

Isn't that a bit steep? correct me if i'm wrong.

What else does a 'stage one' remap offer... does each garage offer different things?
