Been around the forum for a good few months, so figured its time to make a progress thread.

I bought my A3, 2.0TDI S-line in November 2013. I wasn't looking for a new car at the time but i stopped to have a little look at the local garage and instantly loved the look of the A3. I was persuaded in to test driving a 1.6 FSI sport model, nice but lacked the power. I was then recommended to drive the 2.0tdi model, and couldn't believe the sheer power of the thing! Coming from a 1.2 60ps fiesta to this, wow. Done deal, deposit was put down that day.

Looking back at it it was a bit of an impulse buy, i was thinking with my heart and not my head. A quick look on autotrader showed i could of got a bit more for my money. But despite this, its a well serviced car and turns out i knew the previous owner!

First mod was seeing ash and getting the rear LED facelift lights on, vast improvement on the old ones and modernised the rear.

Second was the S3 pedals, and the chrome climate control switches

Im pretty content with the interior for now, so next up was the rear exhaust trim

1. window tints (couldn't tell if they are already or not)

2. lower 30mm on eibach pro-kit springs

3. rear roof spoiler

4. RNS-E

Really nice motor you have there mate, i'd do some/all of the above and just enjoy it.

if you're that way inclined then remapping the diesels gives a nice boost in power.

Ive added a few mods this month, Firstly I've changed the rear bumper to the facelift one and added the s-line diffuser. Ive still yet to add on the mesh, but looking at the price from Audi directly that can wait.

I also added a MFSW, i was debating a flat bottom but i cant justify the price! Im glad I didnt in the end as the one i have is brilliant, alot thicker than my old one and the leather is much softer and looks amazing. Whilst I was there ash187 fitted cruise for me which is a brilliant addition and fitted some Bose covers!

Next month will be RNS-E and if funds allows some S3 replica alloys.

Yet to do
  • Gloss black B Pillar
  • RNS-E
  • Facelift headlight switch + Facelift air vents
  • Window tinting
  • Maybe lower
  • S3 Facelift Alloys
  • Private Plate

if your going to lower it pal try useing standard mk2TT springs as they are factory lower and the ride is factory also

Really nice mods so far.

I'm particularly interested in the rear diffuser, didn't realise you could upgrade these without an entire bumper swap!

Got a 3dr 2.0T s-line with the plain grey diffuser but really want to upgrade it - is it a simple driveway job? Does the newer one fit?

Looking forward to more pics

Edit: Just re-read your post. I thought you upgraded to an s-line bumper with a newer diffuser, didn't realise it was a complete change to the facelift (2009+ I presume?) bumper. :)

Gutted, thought I could just get away with changing the diffuser.

Yeah unfortunately you have to upgrade the whole bumper as the pre-facelift has 2 split bumper not just a diffuser . Good news is my old bumper was pretty screwed and needed a re-spray so was a perfect opportunity to replace it with the newer one. You can add a S3 diffuser onto a pre-facelift bumper, parts are expensive tho.

Looks good did you use TT TDI springs?

Yes mate, mine is a TDI QUATTRO so used TDI QUATTRO springs

Cheers mate. 2 split bumper?

My bumper looks like this:

I much prefer your diffuser over the plain dark grey strip.

Ahh right!

It's a 2006 Avus Silver S-Line - has upgraded MY11 lamps with the same bumper as the car in the pic so looks practically the same. :) Thought the grey strip might've been detachable/upgradable when I saw your pic!

Is that Avus or Akoya, it looks the same colour as mine.. I always thought mine was Akoya?

Its Avus pal, the two colours do look very similar. Avus has a more silvery tinge to it, Akoya has more blue in it. Also avus is only available as a colour in s-line spec i believe.

In the 08+ style bumper it is, I have an 08+ on my 06 Sline too as I couldn't find a proper replacement 06 Sline smooth 2 piece for it and this is the next best thing, anyone bar us lot, that doesn't know the minute differences between them can even tell.

The black "diffuser" bit is snapped into place, I know it just pops right off cos I just took mine off the other day to smooth and spray it satin black as it was scuffed up and had one or two gouges in it.

I must be wrong then and mines Avus too, it's 110% an S-Line Sportback.
