African Highway is bound for Grimsby - maybe with my car on board :) Probaly not though as it was only built earlier this week.
How odd been watching it and its going back and forth from sheerness all week so put my money on it being that one! Cnt find any that are on their way to Sheerness, two in port at the moment City of Amsterdam and Seven Seas Highway the later arrived after the sales man told me my car was on a ship so its either city of amsterdam or a boat ive missed thats on its way to Sheerness....

More confused cant find any boat going from emden to Sheerness.... after a regular service no more boats now that I know my car is on a ship....

No record, is yours an oz car? They only seem to ship outside of Europe.

Yes, my car will be bound down under to Oz.

Ah, is that the difference between the two ports they ship from (Emden vs Bremenhaven)? Emden for within Europe and Bremenhaven to the rest of the world.

Our car had a production date of the 19/7, so hopefully will get a VIN from our dealership early next week so the tracking can commence.

As promised I got my regular call from my dealer to say that my car has been built and is now on the way to Emden (Code 30). Yippee!

Mine is the Glacier White one in the background (but I think they've fitted the wrong wheels) :(

Audi A3 Factory Tour Ingolstadt

And now you can see it on the train - the white one on the last carriage I think!

KYcM0LI

Got to be very soon now?

I've also just had an update from my dealer to say that my S3 is sitting at Emden awaiting shipping release.

Wow that is quick, from being built to the docks awaiting shipping. Wonder how many days/weeks different will it be for S3 sedans to move from factory in Gyor Hungary to Bremenhaven, as my Sepang Blue S3 sedan was built on the 19/7.

That is quick. My build day was the 14th (Monday of week 29) so I hope mine is also sitting at Bremehaven about to board .... ... wishful thinking.

Longy, yours was Saturday? They work Saturday? If so you might have to get in the queue ....??

Yep, Saturday the 19th.

My dealership said to expect a near 3 month wait still for delivery, but at least it's now built.

My car has arrived at Emden - it is just visible in this picture but I'm a bit worried about the scratch on the bonnet ....... :)

I hope yours is not at Bremerhaven as it should be at the port of Emden 68 miles away!

Hi glospete. I'm in Sydney, and I understand our cars go from Bremehaven, and yours in the UK go from Emden?

BTW great photos and very entertaining, keep up the good work - cheers.

Ah I didn't know that! That's the trouble with us Poms - too parochial! I can't see your signature using Tapatalk - that's the problem of using it on the iPad in bed :)

Exciting times for all of us eh? I went through the same when I got our TT last year. I remember following every car container ship leaving Emden thinking/hoping that mine was on it. And then suddenly it was at the dealers. I feel for you guys with your long sea journey - you'd think they could at least fly them to Oz LOL.

Shipping update:

ISAR Highway on way to Grimsby, docks 24/7 0200
EMS Highway in Emden leaving for Grimsby, docks 24/7 1445
AFRICAN Highway on way to Sheerness, docks 23/7 1000

Whose cars are going to be on them?

Had an update call from the dealer yesterday, car has cleared customs so theyve been able to assign me a reg and they nearly managed to get my initials in which is a nice touch! Car is now waiting on transporter and will be at the dealership Friday or Monday at the latest and picking it up week Friday! :racer:

Just had email from dealer to say my car is ON A SHIP !! So could be ISAR Highway but more likely to be EMS Highway, docking at Grimsby tomorrow 1445.

I've also got the VIN number so I can login with MyAudi.

Update, Update. I was wrong - it is on the African Highway which has just docked at Sheerness a few minutes ago. So it looks as though I'll get it much earlier than I expected. :hubbahubba:

If it takes about the same amount of time as my car did from ship docking till being through customs then Mine arrived Last Friday and cleared customs yesterday (well got call from dealer to say it had by yesterday) so could be cleared end of this week and then on transporter shortly after. The exciting bits start happening then like arranging pick up day. If you dont have a private plate you should get informed of the Reg as well.

Very lucky! It's great when that happens, and not the other way around lol! I still have not been given a build week as of yet, (been 4 weeks almost now), but have been repeatedly told they have been given and estimated delivery/lead time of 24/10/14 ;(

Another update phone call from my dealer (what a star he is!) to say that the car is now on the dockside at Sheerness and he is trying to get it to Exeter so that I can have it before the end of July (I have a personal plate so 1 September is irrelevant to me).

Ahhh, only 2 1/2 to 3 more months for me/us week 29 auussies ..... Good on you Glospete. Don't forget to give is lots of pics. Incidently don't you have a photo of your car being driven off the ship or???

Funny you should say that but ......

I did request that the captain parked it carefully on the deck so it isn't really visible in this shot!

Oh how I feel for you guys having to wait 2.5 to 3 months more. But now they're built you can get the VIN number and then go onto http://my.audi.com and "see" the car there with all it's options. Only problem (fortunately I was aware!) is that if you've ordered Glacier White (as I have) it says it is Mauritius Blue. Doh! Could give you a heart attack if you were not aware of this little German "joke"!

Good pics, but are you sure yours isn't that Moorichus blue one, over there in the corner?

If only mine could make it onto the "Glorius leader" - leaves next Monday, then I'd get it in September?

I did indeed check myaudi. The Australia site gives nothing, but on the UK site it said my interior had black inlays, (which is an optional extra over here and it should be silver) and misssd some of my real options, but at least it said Daytona Grey - so best I pay the 5 Euro's and look at erwin.com and see what it says that I have there.

If yours makes it to you by the end of July, that would be within the week - and very sweet indeed......

Actually according to Vesselfinder Glorious Leader is just off the SW coast of England at the moment, not far from my home! I'll keep an eye out for it. It's says next port is Antwerp.

I don't think that Glorious leader (OMG what am I saying) would want it - no bullet proofing or room for his 2000 assistants/hairdressers.

And I'll have to be awfully lucky for mine to catch the GLORIOUS LEADER, but would be great. If it gets the next ship, that goes via NZ and takes longer, so if not Glorious Leader; I'm hoping for the Tirranna, leaves Aug 6. And you will be enjoying yours well before then ..... lucky duck.

Did you pay much for Vesselfinder, and what do you get over and above the free version?

I was finally able to register my VIN on the myAudi website, everything I spec was there, so hopefully yours is correct Gandv.

Vesselfinder website is free of charge (and no restriction on number of ships in "My Fleet" unlike Marine Traffic) but the iPad version costs £2.99 and there is no free version. But so that I was able to monitor every ship into and out of Emden what's £2.99 compared to the cost of my car? My wife thinks I'm sad ....:sadlike:

Haha, I'm similar to you, I bought MarineTraffic for the ipad, it was $4.99 AUD, great fun tracking all the different ships people car are on, making their way down under at 16-18 knots.

I can totally appreciate what you're going through as when I bought a previous car - a Hyundai Santa Fe - I was able to track it all the way from Bhutan in South Korea to England. I knew much more than my dealer about when the car would arrive ... and still my wife thought I was sad!

Just had yet another call from my dealer - he might receive the car tomorrow (11 days since it was built) but of course they've got to PDI it etc so we could have had the car late next week but we are not available :(
so we've arranged collection on Monday 4 August.

Incidentally the salesman is away on a course next week Munich next week to learn all about the new A3 eTron.

I don't think your wife will think you're sad on August 4.
