Jardo's 'Journey to quattro' - My Story...

Flog me your liquid and buy one.

I want a liquid, not really into the FIS display. Too much effort for me.

I did see it, and it looks super smart though. For a build your yours, or Paul's them yeah it's great.

But I want a whacking great display and I want it in the vent, don't ask why I just do :)

Diesel geek is still on, I lubricated it and adjusted it slightly and I love it now.

I have adjusted it haven't I!

It was all dry and notchy, I greased all the bushing bits on the gearbox and it's lovely now.

I'll show you when the new clutch is fitted, I'll race you to 60 and we'll know my Diesel Geek is **** if I miss a gear and you win :p

If you're serious about the Liquid Gauge, let me know. I'm happy to work out a deal and send it over.

I am.

Message me on Facebook or something, I won't be in a position to buy until the 25th onwards (payday) but yes. Work out a price :)

Fingers crossed!

I'm dropping it at dad's tonight, he's going to strip it tonight and then we are going to put it back together on Sunday.

I just hope it all comes apart ok.

So you have all seen the thread and the saga of my clutch.

So I put the subframe back in, tied everything out the way and pushed it outside to think about it's behaviour.

Praying that disconnecting the battery for a week doesn't wipe the mapping or anything stupid like that!

It doesn't mean I can't roll in style though, my 11bhp 60 year old Ford Pop has been ferrying me 90 miles a day to work and back. Faultless.

Three gears, self cancelling indicators, no wipers at the moment and a top speed of 45.

Booya!

Ordered a set of ball joints, track rods with ends, new subframe bolts and flywheel/cover plate bolts.

Waiting for Twattyc*unts to refund me so I can make a decision about what way to go with the replacement.

Keep the DMF and add a CG Motorsport clutch? Or put a stock clutch in and spend money elsewhere whilst it's apart?

Oh, and cross my fingers that the gearbox is fine after my dad knocking it off the transmission jack and down 6 foot onto a concrete floor...

It stoved in the engine mount hole, luckily its inches deep so we just drilled it out 10mm and ran a tap down it. Hopefully nothing internally is damaged.

I don't think I could handle the K03 power again. I sure hope it doesn't.

Are you super busy this week? I've tried to call you quite a few times.

-

Turns out my S3LOLS number plate is worth quite a lot of money, online valuations are an instant £450. So that's going up for sale.

I collected the bits for the front end rebuild last night, so it's having...

Oil and filter
New gearbox oil
Haldex service parts for the rear diff
Track rods inner and outer
Lower ball joints
Subframe bolts
Blah blah blah.

Seriously debating the whole clutch thing, so unsure about which clutch.

As recommended previously, and coming up well in searches - Stage 2 Kit for Audi S3 Quattro - 1.8i 20v Turbo 4x4 | CG Motorsport

However this looks like a nice bit of kit - Dual Friction Kit for Audi S3 Quattro - 1.8i 20v Turbo 4x4 | CG Motorsport

Decisions decisions decisions.

I'm thinking because I am keeping the DMF I should be steering away from paddle clutches. It's not like my car has any torque or anything...

Weeks later I have finally ordered another clutch, this time it's going to work!

CG Motorsport stage 2 Kevlar clutch with an uprated pressure plate.

Just hope it is made and delivered quickly, I am tearing my hair out having no car.

Been on a bit of a shopping spree yesterday.

After mocking their existence I ordered a billet bleeder block which apparently has no restriction in it, who knows...as well as a load of new bushes, steering rack bush, new clamps for the boost pipes so I can do the lower ones whilst it's all off, all sorts of little servicey bits which will doubtlessly break, fail or weaken and cause annoying little 15 minute breakdowns in the future.

I just want boost back, last night I actually dreamed about just driving my car down my favourite road with the windows down and the radio up.

Two weeks of driving Fiat 500's and my Ford Pop has turned me into a grumpy *******.

How did I live with a diesel for so long?

And, I've decided I want some Rota's.

Either these.

Or these.

Hey - any car is better than no car dude.....

I'm having to be a bus wancar until my motor's back on the road so stop your complaining :p

If you do have to go aftermarket/non Audi look wheels that have been 'scene' to death -then how about 3SDMs?

Banging service from CG Motorsport, why didn't I ring them sooner?!

They have just phoned me to say my clutch is in the workshop being machined, and will be dispatched tonight and with me tomorrow morning.

I should have just ordered from them three weeks ago.

I am coming round to the idea of refurbishing my current wheels more and more.

I just want it back now!!!!

Jarod mate, I too have recently been perving over Jap rims and if I had the money these would be the ones I'd be going for:

Bit of a sh!t picture but Volks Racing CE28 competition, pant creamingly awesome!.. If your serious I know a fella that can import decent Jap rims at very reasonable prices

Clutch is in, gearbox and transfer box are in bolted up, subframe is hand tightened in place and the engine it back on its mounts.

Dad's having a pissy fit about it all, so the front end rebuild isn't happening. It's all got to come apart again for that.

And I'm booked in for the club GTI sprint day in September.

Nice one!!! Im very interested in seeing how you get on!!
You done it before?

Never done one no, but I've made my own track out of parked cars in the Sainsburys carpark and nailed that.

Can't be that different?

My dad says it will be back on the road today.

If it is, with a fresh clutch after just being in a million pieces.

I'm driving it two and a half hours/100 miles to Hastings haha.
