Hello, apologies for my lack of technical knowledge.

Having rods and hybrid etc etc done next week, should I be changing the thermostat along with the water pump or is it just changed as and when there is a problem?

Thanks for the help.

as the head will be off i would imagine a cam belt and water pump is a standard to be done at the same time

To be fair buddy a thermostat is around a tenner I would just get it done whilst everything is apart

Yes I have cambelt kit/water pump. I was wondering about the thermostat

So is the thermostat a pain to get to normally? I didn't think to buy one :-(

not really, its in a plastic outlet housing next to the ancillaries bracket (to the right of the alternator)

Thanks guys, no need for me to be killing myself to get to TPS then before I drop the car off in the morning

only thing to consider is the loss of coolant when doing it, makes sense to do it whilst its all apart i guess

Yeah good point. Will see if my local TPS has one in stock in the morning. I may aswell replace it as I am doing with most things I can! Sump, oil pump, oil pickup pipe while the jobs being done!

I managed to get the thermostat this morning, it was around £25 from TPS
